I was livid Ok guess I'm going to become a dog fanatic now. Don't get me wrong I have always been upset by people not treating their dogs right, but since I have gotten Bentley I have become more sensitive. Katie and I went to target tonight. Two spots away was a beautiful schnauzer in the car alone car not running. We were going in to pick up a few things. I was loudly pitching a fit as we went in the store about a dog being left in a car and that I was about to call the police. It has been in the 90's all day. Riding home from my parents after work with the ac blowing hard Bentley was panting hard so I knew what that poor dog was going through. We went back out when we were done. I was ready to take a picture and call the police. Well guess what. There was a teenage boy in the car by then with the ac running. My daughter new what was coming. She kept begging me not to go over well I did. I calmly marched my fat $%@#$%@ over the to the car and knocked on the window. Then politely told him, "It is too hot to leave that dog in the car. It's not fare to that little guy. You are very lucky because I was about to call the police." He looked shocked and just sheepishly said ok. I then quietly turned and walked back to my car. My poor daughter was standing behind my car hunched down into the trunk and would not move until I got in the car. lol |
Hopefully the teenager will think twice the next time he has the dog in the car!! |
oh gosh, my mom and I hate to see pups in the car to. If by the time we come out and its still out there we'll do something!!:) |
Well my guess is mom sent him out because he was sitting in the passenger seat. |
Good for you. Thanks! I would have done the same thing. You're a good woman. |
Sometimes waiting until you come out can be to late....., |
Good for you ! I would have done the same thing. |
good for you, that is bulls**t, poor dog |
Good thing they came out and had the ac on. Haha your daughter sounds just like me when my mom is about to say something, begging and ducking lol made me laugh!:D |
I'd like to see the owner of that dog sit in the car with temperatures that high, no windows down or anything, and see how that poor dog felt. Even in cooler weather it gets hot in a car! People are so ignorant. Good for you saying something! |

I will say this, next time take note of the plate, call the police, then park your fat ass next to that car and wait for the police. Also if the owner does come out make sure you lambaste him...most importantly, if the dog seems to be in distress take whatever action you must to help him...just saying... Sincerely, A fellow fat ass Yter who cares... |
good for you// anytime I see that I call the cops |
It should be a law that if it is over ?? degrees (I would even go as low as 70) and leaves a dog unattended in a car like this that we can bust a window and get the dog out and a dish of water. Broken window < dog with heat stroke. If I was stupid enough to leave Nilla unattended in a car on a hot day like that, I would welcome someone busting out my window to save her as opposed to coming back and finding her passed out or worse ... Much worse. Too bad it will never happen! |

Too bad that the law will never be passed, not that I want my window busted out so someone will save Nilla. I see in hindsight that my timing was odd in that statement. If Nilla is ever in my car unattended, it is because I ran into the post office (and watch her like a hawk and hurry back) or am pumping gas, so I am right beside her. I won't take her riding if I intend on going in any non - pet friendly stores to shop. I won't risk her being stolen or having a heat stroke. I try to avoid taking her out on really hot days because the a/c is kind of shotty in my car. Sometimes it cannot be avoided if I want to get her out in summertime, so I shoot for the dh's vehicle or we make a short trip with no leaving Nilla by herself, windows down, air blowing from the vents, ... The works. |
