Belt buddy or choke free....she has learned how to get out of her's Can you stand one more thread: Bella is about 4.5 lbs and ACTIVE is an understatement. She walks, wiggles, rubs, flips around and then BOOM she is out of harness which goes around her legs, doesn't touch her throat. She gets them loose. She is so smart. Now I need a leather one! So which one and which color.............love you opinions.:D |
I also have a Houdini here. I tightened her Buddy Belt up a notch, and when she starts her little number, I put no pressure on the leash at all. She hasn't ditched me yet! |
Buddy belt is choke free and I have one for all four of my girls. If you buy the correct size, she won't be able to get it off. My girls have the light pink, but there are lots of really beautiful colors. Maximo sells them. For your girl I'd say she would wear a size 3. You can even let it out to go over jackets, sweaters and such when needed. |
You probably know that I am biased. We have used only the Buddy Belt over the past 4.5 years. Neither of my boys has ever escaped. When properly fitted (i.e. not too big), it is inescapable. Here is a video of my boys walking in their Classic Black (they are wearing the same harnesses in the other videos on our YouTube page): |
Oh I forgot, she has gotten out of it again the other day. We were in the yard ready to go for a walk, and Sapphire had snuck out of the house. I dropped the leash to go get Sapphire and put her back in the house. When I turned around to pick up the leash, I see the Buddy Belt, and no dog! She's a contortionist, I swear! I had it buckled one notch tighter than recommended (the 2 finger rule) I can just get one finger under it and that's with me struggling to squeeze it in there, lol. I was worried about her being able to breathe! I'll have to get her on video one day. She's a hoot! |

I love the buddy belt the leather is soft and you can tell it is well made. It actually helps you when walking them bc there isn't as much pulling do to the way it is designed it gives you more control and it doesn't bother their trachea. I just bought Pixie's loved it so much I ordered Daisy one. you can add a little bling to them too making it very special;) |
I just got my buddy belt and I am in love! I chose buddy belt over choke free harness because buddy belt is more adjustable. |
well... I love the Choke*Free shoulder Harness. If sized correctly they can not get out.... and it is impossible to open up when the leash is attached. Of course.. I like them best thus I do sell them. I am posting a link to an old but current thread...prices are post # 6 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-harness.html |
Harness problems I, too have harness frustration. I think I have tried every type of harness known to man and just can't seem to get one that fits Wallee right. I try to adjust the size and as soon as we start to walk, it twists to the side. Can someone please tell me what the heck I am doing wrong? BTW, I did try the Buddy Belt too...while I loved the look on him, he got chafed under both arms. I sold it to Jacqui and it fits her Orion perfectly. I swear I have spent a small fortune on harnesses for this guy. |
I prefer buddy belt because its adjustable so Callie can wear hers naked, with a coat on or just with a tshirt on. |

Bella sounds like a rambunctious little girl. :D We're in love with the Buddy Belts. I'm not able to choose a color because Yazmin has 12 BB's in a variety of colors. Maximo has a wonderful selection to choose from. Buddy Belt Harness I agree with others if you tighten her Buddy Belt up a notch, they are inscapeable! |
I have 2 BB's! Tatiana is in a size 1 so she is little. She has never slipped out of hers and there is not much to her! I love that it is adjustable to use with or without clothes. I would say go with a Buddy Belt if you want room to grow. The colors and quality is awesome! |
