Lexi sees Ghosts? I know this will have different opinions because many don't believe in ghosts or spirits, i do. Right now I'm sitting in my room wit Lexi in the dark and the door is open a bit and she got up and started barking and growling at the door. I put her on the floor and she walked to the door, growled and turned around to come back to the bed. She continued barking. I turned on lights, opened door, looked in he hallway and there is nothing. She's sleeping now, and i'm terrified lol. |
Girl, I'm right there with ya as far as believing in them. I would be sleeping with lights on because I'm a coward. Lol Do you live in an old house? Lexi could have heard a noise that you didn't. Dogs hearing are much keener than ours. But you know this. Maybe sleep with the tv on? |
Peanut sees things all the time!! Its creepy. One time his head was following something.. I just hope its my Dad or Grandparents visiting!! |
I have the tv on! Haha. My parents built the house in 94, I don't know why there would be any spirits in it. I'm assuming she probably heard something that I couldn't hear also. While she was barking, she stopped for a second and I heard a noise in the hallway, and she started barking again. I don't know what's going on lol, I'm wide awake for now. |
I was thinking MAYBE it could be my grandpa, he has never visited before though, not that I could see or hear. Hmm.. |
She likely heard or smelled something outside she disagreed with and let it be known. I guarantee I have no ghosts and my Yorkies and other dogs have done this many times over the years. They can hear/smell bugs, mice, etc., movement in the walls, cats and other critters outside, scent a stranger walking by the house and lots of things our hearing and smell cannot fathom. And dogs just become more sentient in the dark, just as humans often do only they have more skills for picking up things our ears and nose never can. When Tibbe does this kind of thing he gets praised and a treat. He's a gooooood watch dog. Sounds like you have one too. |
I know Sonic sees something in this house I know the difference between him hearing from outside and him seeing something in the house. When someone walking a dog outside sonic goes crazy. Now before I got sonic it was year or so before I got him I was watching tv in the livingroom and I saw this myst only way I can explain it is it the texture looked silkish and it was floating from the kitchen into the livingroom I watched it and it goes to the wall before it gets to the wall it goes up towards the ceiling and poof! now in the corner where the myst poofed is a china cabinet sonic has growled at the china cabinet and I have a picture of him sitting in front of it looking up. When I saw this myst the china cabinet was not there at the time it was in another corner in the living room and this house is not big btw and on the other side of the wall is the laundry room. Sonic has on 2 occasions that I know of followed something it must have went into the wall because he reared up on the wall sniffing. so yes I do believe in the spirits and I do believe Sonic sees them. |
I know that the last house I lived in HAD to be haunted...it was super old and creepy. My Boxer Kiki and my cat I had at the time would both watch nothing, at the same time. In fact I caught a picture of them staring at the nothingness in the same spot. I need to find it.. It was so creepy! |
1 Attachment(s) Here it is! So, i promise you there was nothing behind the couch as i checked, and there was no mice or bugs or anything in the house. This particular night I was feeling very uneasy and anxious and their behavior didn't help one bit! Luckily this house was a rental and we're now in our own house that doesn't have a negative vibe lol. |
I agree that they have unusual senses and a lot of times it is critters. Don't get scared if it is ghost she sees bc it is not the dead that hurts you its the living. My Grandma use to tell me that all the time and she use to talk to her ghost. lol |

When both my kids went away to college I sold my big house & bought a tiny (and I mean tiny) fixer-upper house. It was built in 1956 by the original owners themselves. The old lady became ill and went to a home, where she passed, but the old guy lived in the house until he died in what is now my bedroom! ZoE has often run from one room into another barking, like something/someone is there. My neighbor came over one time to see my progress on house projects I've been working on, and I was telling her about it. She told me 1). she's been psychic since she was a child (that kinda freaked me out...) 2). that the old guy died in my bedroom (that did freak me out!) 3). the old guy used to own a standard poodle that he showed. Then, she told me the poodle's presence is still there...and that ZoE interacts with it! This totally freaked me out!!! I'm not sure that I actually buy into it...but it might explain a few of ZoE's strange behaviors. |
That is creepy I do have some pictures of sonic looking at orbs, and I know how people are about orbs. I have caught some solid white orbs in photos.. So far Im not scared I don't feel threatened knock on wood lol |

I think it's my 3 mini schnauzers that moved on to rainbow bridge, they just come by to see if Cinders is being a good girl for me. :) Attachment 387064 |

We rented an older house for a while when our Yorkie Charlie was still alive. We had a few weird experiences and my husband always had legitimate excuses. We could say to Charlie, "Where's the ghost?" and he would just start staring at different points in the room and then slowly move his head until he was looking right above the person who asked. It was a great way to freak out visitors. |
I swear Bentley senses a ghost in my condo. Since we got him 7 weeks ago we have been living with my boyfriend but about once a week, I will go over to my condo. Everytime we are there he goes into what was my daughters room and goes crazy barking at the closet. I wonder if he senses that her dog lived in the room with her, or he senses my cat that I put down last year. I bought my condo from the daughter of a woman who passed, I don't know if she passed in the condo or not. If she did that could explain why he freaks out there. I believe that he can see or sense something that I can't. |
My dogs have jumped up and barked at something in the room before too. We look and don't see anything, but we swear they DO see something. Our house is nearly new too, so nobody else has ever lived there. But my mother-in-law passed away in January, so we think they MAY be seeing her??? I guess we'll never know for sure. |
I really think that animals just hear and smell things we don't so we don't think they are reacting to anything. With that said, the pic of the cat and boxer is crazy wild. lol |
My friend's dog was staying with me for a weekend a year ago. All of a sudden he started following something with his head across the living room and growling at it ... He stood up like he was afraid and kept growling. Then he laid down and started whimpering. It was so weird and scared me! I thought it could be a bug or something but I didnt see anything. Plus he would try to play with bugs when we went outside, not growl at them. The whimpering was what really scared me. If it was just the growling I would think maybe he heard something outside, but why would he cry? Hmmmm |
I am convinced it happens. Have seen it happen first hand when I was 13. When my grandfather was in the hospital dying he promised on his way home when he got discharged he would stop by and see our new house that he had not seen yet. That evening after he died, our Lhasa Opso was laying in the living room and all of a sudden his head popped up and he was acting like he was watching someone or some thing walk in the front door, through the living room and into to the dining room. As soon as what ever/ who ever was out of sight he laid his head back down and let out a sigh. To this day I am convinced it was my grandfather walking around the house looking at it like he promised. |
