How much food should I give my 11 week old? Well he's almost 11 weeks old and 2.10 lbs. I think he's a little chubby and I was just wondering if I am giving too much food? I put down 1/2 cup for him to eat all day and by the end of the day, it still has a couple of kibbles left. Also I give him cheerios treats for potty, sit and down. So about 5-8 cheerios daily (I break them into tiny pieces) I am feeding him Orijen and I also want to know if this is too much protein for him. The breeder fed him Life's Abundance and I tried switching to Blue Buffalo but he wont touch it. He loves Orijen but now I've been reading it has too much protein ... I'd hate to change his food again, he's so picky, I was happy to find something he likes. |

I would think if he is eating good and pooping good, he should be okay, high protein can be bad if their older sometimes or have kidney problems, which is not the case for him. Orijen is a good food, chester is on the acana and he is almost 11 yrs old |
Puppys need to eat but your don't want to keep feeding then if they are gobblers. One that never quit no matter how much food you put out. When they get older you can tell by there body shape and if you feel to much fat on the back or nothing but bone. You can find pics on the web. You can use a calculator just for and idea also. I just checked the Orijen website for their puppy food feeding recommendations, and they're recommending 2/3 cup for a small breed dog (their example is a chihuahua), so if your little one is given 1/2 cup and has a little left left over, you're not overfeeding him. Puppy | Orijen |
Yep, can't overfeed a puppy!! |
