Thank you all for the sweet thoughts. I feel understood here at this site but soon as I feel better, I have got to find some back-up to my back-up for those kinds of days but I will have the hotel IF I have to leave him during the hours they are open. Still, most emergencies don't always happen when it's convenient. The upside of this is, Tibbe is acting normally today and he's over there in the kitchen having a late brunch of some of his hepatic diet canned food mixed in with his kibble. Except for last Sunday when he was kind of lethargic, he's been totally well and normal as to his probable MVD . He's very, very slowly being changed over to the hepatic so as to hopefully avoid any terrible itching by just going straight to a whole hepatic meal. We'll see but so far, no tummy troubles on his part!!! |
Happy to hear Tibbe is doing well with his new diet. I'm sure he is relieved to have you home. :) I understand how hard it is to come up with a backup to your backup emergency person. |

Aww poor Tibbe! Poor baby didn't touch his food while you were gone, he probably stayed in 1 spot & waited for you! This makes me so sad, but oh how happy he must've been to see you finally home. I think my guys (esp Momo) would've devoured their food & slept all day while I was gone lolll.:p All the vet offices around here offer boarding. Maybe they have something like that where you are? IDK if you'd rather have Tibbe sit in a cage all day, but I think the vet techs will steal some cuddle time w/him! They also give them potty breaks outside & give them food/ meds if needed, just like a pet hotel. Take care of your sweet self Jeanie! |
I look for your posts to see how tibbe is doing- i hate to leave my yorkies- if i had to i would try to keep them home and have some nice lady from church come over. A dog loving lady- pray for guidance . I hope that cute little fella is strong and healthy- |
Both my groomer and my vet offer boarding, and since my groomer lives in a double-wide next to their building, I could probably take him there in a pinch, even after hours, maybe. I have boarded with my vet before and they take the little ones out & give them attention, but he still got diarrhea and didn't eat both times he was boarded there. A neighbor could come feed and let him out if you had someone you would trust with a key, in case you left and weren't able to get back home due to an emergency. A situation like you just went through makes one think of the available options... |
Poor baby, he really is such a good boy! My Teddy would have literally been peeing everywhere! I bet he was so happy to see you:) Thank you for sharing this, it made me realize that I really need a better emergency plan myself! I will be working on one tonight:) |
Awwww what a good boy little Tibbe is! He was so worried and missing mommy, he forgot all about food. So happy he is ok. Are you ok, praying all is well now with you...((HUGGZZ)) |
Positive thoughts for both you and your baby! |

I've been thinking about you a lot, and I keep praying that you will get better soon. I hope your next doctor's report is excellent and that your body has healed. I keep thinking of you and Tibbe together watching over each other. The two of you make such a wonderful , special team. May love to you always, Jeanie. |
trust Blessings to you and tibbe- you are in alot of thoughts and prayers- you send so much love and caring over this thread may you feel healing power today- |
Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers. Wonderworking! We're both doing good! Tibbe hasn't had a bad day since that lethargic Sunday before last and I'm feeling much better. He's eating, feisty, chased squirrels yesterday and was running right beside a slow one(!) and sleeps well. He's constantly begging me for training and walking time!!! Healthy appetite. Bouncy. Defiant and talkin' back! I think I've got my old Tibbe back at last!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) I'm rich! |

tibbe' I just love tibbe and you jeanne- i am so thankful both of you are better- tell me why did you name him tibbe- that is so cute- you have the best companion and friend- |
How totally sweet to say, Sandy. Thank you. You have such a sweet way of putting things. Tibbe is so full of himself today - he's been hiding his chewie all afternoon and making me go find it as he follows along behind me. When I do find it under a chair or behind a drape, I grab it up and yell and jump all around and celebrate and he does too! He doglaughs the whole time and just loves it. Then I run back into the den with it(well, don't run but go as fast as I can with this hip) and I turn around some more and wave it and celebrate and then I toss it far as I can. He really burns rubber trying to run after it, gets it, chews along the edges for about 20 seconds and then dashes off to hide it all over again. He disappears down the hall or into the living room and finally hides it, then comes bursting into the den doglaughing to let me know it's time to go again, going around in circles until I get up and start seeking again. He trots along behind me so happy to be playing this game. I'm pretty well worn out from this by now and he's still raring to go. By the way, he'd stopped even playing his "hide 'n seek" game from about February - April or so. It's so great to see him all excited to play again and act like himself. He invented this game himself so it's all Tibbe. He's a little toot! And lordy lordy it feels good to say that again finally! I keep shaking myself and thinking how special to have him well again! You know I don't know where in the world his name came from. I kind of wanted to name him Teddybear or something like that as I was driving to get my what I thought was going to be a girl puppy of about 4 months but when I got to the breeder, she said she wanted to show me a troubled little guy she had "inherited" from another breeder besides the puppies and an older girl puppy. In she came with Tibbe and as soon as I saw him, all of 9 months old, my mind just said "Tibbe" and even spelled with an "e" on the end instead of a "y" but pronounced in my head like Tibby. So he was just named "Tibbe" in an instant from somewhere just like that. I'd never even heard of the name before. But it fits him. He's a true Tibbe! He keeps you laughing all the time with his antics. |
tibbe He is the cutest yorkie- you are blessed with such a great friend. I am glad he is well. I bet your day is full of fun with him. Now are you in weather that is dangerous i think of you and tibbe when i hear bad weather in texas- we camp and have met the nicest people from texas- we are up in sequoia today- love the big trees. Going n a hike enjoy your day love and happy thoughts and hugs to tibbe |
A dry line is moving through D/FW later today and we have a slight risk of tornadoes here today. Mostly I think we're supposed to have heavy rain, wind, hail as it moves through. Your prayers for all of us in the risk area will be so appreciated. Enjoy the peace of Sequoia today!!! |
Praying for you and hope the weather is calm. Our storms are starting up here now. Please keep us in your prayers, too. |

Then they just said on CNN, almost happy about it, it sounded like, "Well, it is the first day of hurricane season!" Ugh! No more hyping fear, media. Information is wonderful but they go ramping up worry where they can. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm just tired of the stressing over it, worrying about all the people hurt by all of this weather and if we all will be okay and it only seems that they keep mentioning the bad as often as possible and dragging it out. Just wish it was the dog days of summer or something and we could have some calm. |
No, you are right. The media does hype up fear when people are already scared enough. Its no right and so unnecessary. |

Standing in the backyard with Tibbe this morning, he's done pottying and sniffing far out in the back yard, I call him and step into the Utility Porch to wait for him and turn around to see him coming with the whole end of a loaf of French bread in his mouth!!! There were gnaw marks on it! I told him to leave it and he immediately dropped it, got a treat and praise and I threw it away but boy I hope this doesn't do his tummy in. I swear I can't even turn my back on this dog - ever! |
I was so worried about you last night, but then I saw you posting later on, and I was relieved. You have done a remarkable job of training Tibbe. I worry so much about Katie, and I understand your fears, but I don't think so little bread should harm your precious Tibbe. |

Course I treated him and really loved and praised him for dropping it and then immediately started fixing his breakfast with the canned hepatic food all mixed in and he got all excited about that, he didn't seem to mind not getting to eat his big "find". Hope this big game hunter doesn't have a tummy ache later on. |
