My little hunter! Henri has always hunted things such as bugs and the occasional bird (which he always fails to catch:p). I find it funny when he goes into "hunting mode" and he looks so cute when he struts around after catching his prey (bugs). Well tonight I was in for a shock... I let him out to do his business one last time for the night while I watched from the door. I noticed he was acting weird and growling at something, I went out to tell him enough bug hunting for tonight when I saw a mouse! He had it cornered by the steps! I gasped really loud and freaked out just a little, I have seen mice before (including dead ones) but it still startled me to see my sweet little baby boy after one. I picked up Henri before he could go in for the kill and let the mouse go, poor thing ran as fast as it could across the yard and under the fence. My little hunter, keeping the yard safe from bugs and mice!:p:D;):) |

Well for the Mouse's sake I am glad he didn't get eaten but Bravo :bravo: to Henri for being such a Brave Little Hunter :) |
That's exactly what our furbabies were intended to do when they came to be. To protect cotton plantations of rats and other rodents that would destroy the crops. Even after a thousand years of pampering and spoiling by us mother nature still knows what to do. Awesome :D |
Glad he did his job. |
What a cute story, Henri the brave and mighty hunter. It is always cute to see our spoiled and pampered babies show what they were actually bread for. It's an amazing sight to see. So glad your Henri is always out on patrol keeping your yard safe for you. |
They do still have that killer instinct don't they? I could never let Gracie outside at night. We have all kinds of wildlife that visit our backyard, especially at night time. We had a bear out there early this spring. Gracie does most of her "hunting" from the bottom of my bed through the window. She gets to see all kinds of critters through that window. When something really interesting like a skunk, raccoon, or a bear visits us she will start to growl and bark. She runs to the door like she is going to go out there and kill those animals for touching her property! Be glad it's only mice that you have in your yard! These little dogs will take on anything! |
