So far we have the following suggestions, and a few more that I thought of: Just Right Club Just Right For Me TAT (Tinies Against Teacups) 4WT-( We Wish We Were Teapots) Small Boned Yorkies Teapot Wannabes TNT ( Tiny, Not Teacup) IBM (Itsy Bitsy Me) Our Little Rascals The Thimble Club Just My Size I'm a Little Teapot I'll add to the list, keep making suggestions! :) |
I love the name Itty Bitty Me, and I love the idea of a club, although I would anticipate that there will be many people here that will not approve. I am always cautious on YT about avoiding the controversy of discussing my girls' weights and their size. While I agree that we need to educate as opposed to promoting the breeding of tinies, the fact is, tinies are out there. Unfortunately, by the time most owners of tinies find YT, they have already purchased the baby. Many come after the fact, because they don't know what to do about hypoglycemia, immunization reactions, anesthesia etc. Lola Katy is correct. Tinies are usually classified as adults under 4 lbs. I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Kim, and my Mia is 2 years old. She weighs 3.4 lbs. Allie is 1 year old. She is 2 pounds even. |

So far, I have this worked out for the guidelines and the application... please let me know if anything needs added, changed, taken out ect. Club name ( none yet) Guidelines- Membership applicants have to post in the general chat area that they DO NOT Condone or Promote the breeding of tiny (under 4 lb. weight) pups. This is a club to unite the owners of smaller than standard Yorkies for the sole purpose of having fun, sharing problems for the education of others, and discouraging the breeding of tiny yorkies for profit. If accepted into this club, you will try to the best of your ability to discourage anyone from buying from a breeder that breeds puppies that will be under the Yorkie standard weight of 5 lbs. to 7 lbs when full grown. (The breeders that advertise their puppies as tinys, micros, minis, teacups, ect. are those we will not support). You can share your experiences with other members so we can learn what worked for you, and what didn't work so well. If your Yorkie is under 4 lbs. and completely finished growing, please submit your application to our club in general chat. I, ( your YT user name here), pledge that I Will NOT condone or Promote the breeding of Yorkies that are under the standard weight of 5 lbs to 7 lbs. I am joining to have fun and share my experiences (good and bad) with other smaller than standard Yorkie owners. Your Yorkies name: Age of Yorkie: Weight: Why should your Yorkie be considered as a member of this club? |
Welcome Kim!! TNT could also stand for Tiny n Tuff!! I'm a little Teapot is really cute!!! We should also vote on the weight restrictions-maybe keep it under 4 pounds. What does everyone think????? |
Looks good to me!!! Does it need to be approved by the board??? |

Now what IS a problem is the tiny tiny puppies that breeders sell too early and they end up with all sorts of issues...hypoglycemia being one. Once a pup is an adult those issues are not there unless they are just sickly. |

The guidelines sound great. It's just my opinion, and I certainly don't want to offend anyone, but I hope the club name (small, tiny, itty bitty) would lead people to the club, as opposed to an acronym that hides who we are. How can we educate people if they can't even find us? I am not ashamed of what my girls are. I understand not wanting to use the word "teacup". I hate that word, and people ask me all the time if they are teacups. But if a cute name, reflecting their size, helps people find the club, and they become more educated, then what is all the worry about? Again, it's just my opinion. |
There's also a club already called Petite Pups Unite...we could join that one. It doesn't have a guideline, but it's already in place. :) IDM either way :) |
