I think you're talking about Seborrhea? It's almost always associated w/ dry flakey skin sometimes oily greasy skin & the oil ducts can produce a fowl smell & can get plugged which can become folliculitis. Dog Folliculitis Symptoms, Causes, and Treatments. In mild folliculitis you typically will find many small pustules with a hair shaft protruding through the center of each. Dogs with mild cases may have rings of scales around the follicles. Does Uni have flakey oily skin? If not, maybe this isn't it & I need to stop googling loll. |
Poor Uni!!! Hoping the results come back negative! |

However Uni does not have greasy skin, although it is dry at times. Last year or so I brought Uni in for a flea allergy, and I put coconut oil on her hot spots. The vet mentioned her looking greasy and asked if that was natural or I put something on her. I supposed she was wondering if she had Seborrhea. The shampoo she's on is for itchiness but not pore clearing. |
I am very happy to hear it was benign and just a follicle infection! |

BTW Davis brand is a good one, my co-groomer in my mobile grooming days introduced me to it. Our vet gives Princess chlorhexidine wipes for her nose after she gets a cytology done, it always comes back as bacterial fungus type of infection. Chlorhexidine is safe to use on pets & is supposed to kill off all the bacteria they can get from rolling on grass or whatever, also improves their skin & hair. |
Happy to hear the results are benign! Poor baby Uni. Hopefully she doesn't get another one of those! |
Glad to hear it is benign. Let's not lookat any more engored tick pix. |
Phew, great news!!! Ptl!! |
Yay benign!! |
After how many of these come back benign that I can stop having them biposied. Ugh. Uni is 6 already. Not young, but not old either. Once she gets older I think I need to do more tests. |
