I've actually thought about tattooing Magnus when I saw it on tv. But that was for ID purposes. The tattoo itself was on the underside of the ear with name and phone #. But then I thought about how much it would hurt so I said forget it.

I don't get why some ppl put their dogs through that sort of unnecessary pain/discomfort.

Yah, and the tattoo he put on his dog is huge. that is not for identification. poor dog. >:(

What a sicko. Why put your dog through that unnecessary pain. I've also heard of people piercing their dogs ears...

OMG piercing dogs ears that complete cruelty. If people are going to treat animals like this they shouldn't have an animal at all. :mad: PEOPLE ARE SICK

I've jokingly said to my mom "how about we get Zoey's ears pierced!?" and she'd give me the most evil stare. I didn't really think anyone would do such an absurd thing to their pet(s) but I guess I was wrong.

Theres an article that states he said the dog was asleep during the procedure and it was leftover anesthesia wear off by a vet, who was clipping the dogs ears.

I'll go out on a limb here.... His dog, his choice. He didn't abuse the dog... It's no worse than having a dog put to sleep to have its teeth removed, its uterus cut out or it's testicles snipped, yet people don't bat an eye to have that done. No one thinks twice about docking tails or removing dew claws...or injecting a pellet under their skin for ID purposes.

I AGREE!! Heck, they probably shouldn't have children either! IMHO, of course.

There are heath benefits to spaying and neutering, as well as dentals and microchip implanting. Docking ears and tails is a different story but could be argued, however there are benefits to some dogs having dewclaws removed.

But what is the benefit of having his dog tattooed with a large tat like that? I suppose you could argue for ID purposes, but really, did he have to do it like that?

And have you ever had a large tattoo before? The healing time is worse than the actual tattoo. Must have been torture for the dog to not be able to lick and scratch that.

Wanted to add. He says he did it for ID purposes. I don't see a phone number on there. And how was the dog still asleep? They are awake when you pick them up? And how much you wanna bet the dog will never be put under to get spayed.

I'm sure their are worse trends out there that we wouldn't even want to know about. I don't understand how people can live with themselves knowing what terrible things they do to innocent creatures.

I still wonder about that picture. That was supposed to be taken right after the tattoo was done. I see no redness. If it is a real tattoo, yes VERY BAD, but I have my doubts on being a real tattoo. Tattoo artists can do wonder with sharpies.
