Free Leash Why do people let their Yorkies free on a Leash? |
???? What do you mean? If they are on a leash how are they "free?" |
Never heard of it, so I googled it! Pisces Pet Products - Dogs | Dog Harnesses Collars And Leashes - Dog Leashes - Free Leash I guess it goes around your waist?? It says it is great for runners/ joggers. Looks more for bigger dogs since it goes around the neck. I would guess it is just by choice. I like the retractable- some don't. |
No, why do you leash your dogs and let them run around dragging it?? |

Some people are stupid :) I think that's the answer. Who knows! My neighbors let their little chi mix run free and she crosses the street all the time. I think I'm going to steal her and find her a better home before she is killed. |

When my dd takes her dog to the dog park and plays "fetch" she leaves a leash on her. The thought is... if Zohie runs she may not be able to catch her (even in a dog park I guess that is a concern of hers) but she can get close enough to at least step on the leash and catch her that way??? He dog is fairly well trained but I guess she did have a bad experence one time of her running away and if she is in any "open" area she wants the security of being able to catch her leash if zohie wants to go somewhere else ??? |

Well, I don't and wouldn't allow my babies to do such a dangerous thing, so I wouldn't pretend to guess why anyone else would allow such a potentially tragic practice. The only logical reason I can think of right now for a dog to be running loose, dragging a leash, is if the dog got away from it's owner on a walk...in which case there should be a human running and hollering behind it. :p:D |

I'm "one of those ppl"... For the most part, it's only when we're on our front yard. It's a corner house so we don't really have a backyard. On weekends, when the weather is nice, I take them out and play fetch. This is the only time I let him "drag the leash". Magnus is mostly good about coming back when I call for him but there are times when he's not. If I keep the leash on him, I'm able to catch him right away. Also, I wash the leashes once/twice a month. |

I thought she was clever.. I think there is a difference is being right with the dog when "dragging a leash" and just letting them "run free". So we maybe looking that the op questions from two different angles. I can say there have been times when on the solid leach I have had a pup get away from me (I droped the leash etc) and i was very happy when I could step on the dragging leash and catch them fast. On the retractable ones if I drop it usually hits them and they lay down... they see me freaking out and stop!!! lol... I should add... I walk four (yes 4!!!) dogs |
I do this when we are at the park. I keep her on the leash but let her run around. I know she want go far from me at all but if she does decided to run I can catch the leash before I can catch her. I only do this when we are at the park. |
