I need Your Opinion??!! Okay so as some of you already know, my family and I have been wanting to ad a female Yorkie to the family. So I was looking on Craigslist and I found a cute female Yorkie puppy. The ad said she was 6 weeks old, but I think she accidently typed the wrong age. She wants $600 for her. Oh also for those who told she had papers, well they were her shot record, Sorry. She comes with her dresses and shot record. She is UTD on her shots. Her name is Princess. Here is the whole ad with the description and pictures. 6 week old yorkie female needs a home I wanted your Opinion on this!! |
Well, I would definitely want some more info on the age. No way this baby is 6 weeks old. ;) I usually tell everyone to be very very cautious of Craigslist. With that said, I found Mandie on Craigslist. I was very blessed. I like that she has the paperwork and the pup is microchipped. I would call and talk to her about it. See where SHE got the pup..who the breeder was..ask about vet visits and records...go from there. The puppy is adorable! :) ETA: If I were you, I'd call fast before someone who doesn't have the pup's best interest in mind tries to scoop her up.... |
Good Morning! I won't be much help, I don't think, because Craig's List scares me. I've never bought anything on Craig's list (and never will), but I wouldn't even think of looking there for a puppy. I mean literally, it just wouldn't cross my mind to look there for a puppy. ;) Poor little baby, it breaks my heart ('cause I'm a softie like that) to think that her people just don't have time for her anymore. I hope she does find a loving forever home. Just one thing to think about though ... a $600.00 negotiable price is a find, but not knowing the history of this little Angel might cost you 10 times that much in medical cost if she has inherited bad genes because of a bad breeding program. Just don't go into it without counting the cost. Good luck! |
For sure - I agree with almost everything said above. I found Mandie before I found YT and became a much more informed puppy owner. With that said, she was definitely a FIND and because they didn't have time for her. I've been very lucky and very blessed. I think you are doing good research so you know to ask questions. Definitely look into who SHE got the pup from :) |
I have been super lucky and have found 2 great yorkies online. One I wasn't even really looking for. 1 from craigslist and the other off a buy sell trade page on fb. But when I was searching for Miss Minnie I did see a lot of scams and unhealthy puppies. I would at least check her out. |
just be sure you have a legit person with a legit yorkie to sell.. best to pay when you see her in person. |
Something smells funny; it's against the law in AZ to sell any breed dog under the age of 8 weeks. The YTCA recommends that a puppy stay with its mother a MINIMUM of 12 week. Even though the puppy isn't nursing any longer the mom is teaching important skills like not to bite too hard and she also begins the potty training process. So this ad is claiming that she's bought the pup at some age prior to 6 weeks and ALREADY has decided it won't work out! I just don't buy it. You might be unknowingly buying a dog from a puppymiller or it's an outright scam. Sometimes if you pay too little for a pup, you end up putting in lots of money in vet bills. |
All I have to say is that anyone who posts their number like this: 510*491*7243 on Craigslist, knows that by using the asteriks, they can avoid the multiple listing error. It also makes the number difficult to come up in searches. So that means they've probably posted ads before. And who knows how many of those postings were for Yorkie puppies. |
See, I'm from Alabama and very niaive lol I didn't know that about the number with the *'s. Like I said, I was very blessed with my turnout so far. I think if you know the questions to ask, though...nothing is not worth looking into. Why would a scammer microchip? That's weird to me..but I'm also very trusting lol |

Hey everyone I just emailed the lady about the age of her yorkie, cause it doesn't look 6 weeks. So I am just waiting for her to email back. When she does I will let you know. |

Dog looks more like 6 months. But beware of scams, like others have said. |
