Hello and Thank God I found you! Hi Everyone! I had been a Yorkie Mom to Ms. indieana Bones for 13 1/2 years when I lost her to CHF on April 8, 2013. Devastated does not begin to describe how I felt and am still feeling in a way. She was my baby and we spent every day 24 hours a day together for most of those years as I was lucky enough to work at home or take her to work. I am very grateful that she died at home in her sleep and that it was painless but it still sucks! The only way for me to move forward was to find a new family member and luckily my Husband was just as sad as I was and agreed that we needed a puppy. I accidentally found a really great breeder less than 2 hours away and long story short we pick up our TWO puppies on Mothers Day May 12th. I have never raised 2 puppies before and was unaware of how most people think it is a stupid idea. This is where the Thank God I found you comes in! This was the only place that said YES it is possible and YES it can work!!! I work from home and am very dedicated to spending the next 15+ years with Daisy and Duke, litter mates, and David and I in a very happy environment. I am very glad to have found this site and I hope that those of you with multiple Yorkies are going to not mind the questions I am probably going to need help with. Lol Anyway I better get some sleep as this is going to be in short supply starting on Sunday! But I cannot wait, truly I have stocked up on pee pee pads and paper towels and I'm looking forward to each and every issue as long as I have those little faces to kiss each night I know we will be ok. Thank you! Karen |
Hi and Welcome to YT! So sorry for your loss of Ms Indieanna Bones, may she Rest in Peace. It's heartbreaking to lose an old friend. Congratulations on your two new pups! They will certainly help to ease your pain and heartache. Looking forward to hearing of your puppy escapades and sharing pics! |
Good morning Karen and family, and welcome from the UK! :) :wavey: A lot of us on YT have lost our dearest, most faithful friends....you will eventually remember her with smiles and happy memories - they do (eventually!) replace the heartbreak. So now, a new chapter in your lives....:D Congratulations on your 2 new babies, bet you can't wait until tomorrow?!!? Looking forward to getting to know you :) Sally + Harry :aimeeyork x |
Welcome to YT Karen :welcome4:! I am so sorry for your loss of your precious little Ms Indieanna Bones. We also suffered the lost our yorkie Baby and know how devestating it is. That's when we brought our little Sophie home. She has made all the difference in mending our broken hearts. While nothing will replace the love you have for Ms Indieanna Bones I am sure Daisy & Duke will fill your hearts with joy. There is nothing like bringing home a new puppy (or puppies) and I am so happy you found them. Be sure to post pictures and keep us updated on all the fun you're about to have with your new additions to your family! :D Jackie |
Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! Sorry about your little angel. Love the names picked out for your new two and can't wait to hear how things go. :) |
Sorry for your loss, but so happy you and hubby and moving forward. Post pics! |
Sorry for your loss of your little one. Hope to hear of your progress with your new little puppies. |
Losing a best friend and family member is devastating, keep the memories and get ready for the puppy fest :D Glad you found YT - I have learned so much here from these generous and caring folks. Pictures, pictures, pictures please ! Have a fun Mother's Day ! |
So glad you found us! Sorry for your loss. Looking forward to watching Duke and Daisy grow:) |
I sorry for your loss, but two is not a bad idea!!!! It's actually great they have a play mate whose the same age, has the same activity level. I think it's really healthy and great. I had an older 6 year old chihuahua and I purchased another puppy so she could have a friend. Well to make the long story short my older chihuahuas spoiling was so deeply rooted that she wanted nothing to do with the new puppy, she didn't want to be bothered or played with, she didn't want to share her food bowl. The other puppy would cry so I we added a third puppy being a yorkie and they are great for each other. The connection they have is amazing they sleep cuddled up and play literally all day. I think it's better than to wait.:) |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Barkley (6 yrs old) in August so I can understand your pain. We brought home 2 yorkie siblings the beginning of November. There's nothing more precious than seeing the two of them cuddled up in their little dog bed. Sometimes they lick each others faces....so cute! They have their occasional fight but for the most part they get along great. We do need to go to some type of obedience training, though. Training two at once is a little difficult, well at least for me it is. Enjoy your Mother's Day gifts! Can't wait to see some pictures. |
Sorry to hear of your loss :( but can't wait to meet your new babies!! I used to think people with two were CRAZY... I now own a male that will be two next week and a 6 month old female and it's really no different just more food and lots more puppy kisses!! :) |
Hated to read about your loss and we all know the pain you are going through and will be facing for so long. I agree that getting another or more Yorkies is a wonderful way to honor Indieana and heal and grow. But two Yorkie puppies???? Girl, you are in for the ride of your life and I marvel at your faith in your stamina. Why in the world not!!! Go for it and I just can't wait to read all about it. Should be like sort of having two new ones ourselves as we kind of peek over your shoulder and read all about it with color pictures! Dying to see those puppies and watch Duke and Daisy grow. |
Saddened by your loss of your devoted little girl, but her memory will eventually bring smiles and a warm feeling.....most of us on here have been in that horrific place, and we understand completely! But now you are about to embark off on a new experience! TWO Yorkie babies!!! This will be the absolutely best thing you could have done!!! They will be enormous company for each other, inseparable and totally devoted to you and your husband, as well as each other! Two Yorkies are more fun than a barrel of monkeys!!! You made NO mistake getting your 2 new babies....you will be thrilled with the results! |
First, let me express my sorrow for the loss of your best friend. A part of your heart will always belong to thar furr baby. May he Rest In Peace over the Rainbow Bridge! Secondly. I'm so excited for you getting 2 puppies!! :) I take it they are litter mates? This should help with you to be able to sleep at night. Will they be crate trained? Be sure to post pics for us to oooh and aaaah over!! :p Love those puppy Pics. Lol |
Thank you!! I cannot tell you how great it was to wake up this morning and read all of your positive and welcoming comments, Thank You so very much! I am really looking forward to the sense of real community I feel here and I hope that I do not become a burden with all the help I think I'm going to need with regards to training. I am planning on puppy kindergarten and follow up obedience classes with them. I hope there is a thread on here about crate training, I did not crate train Indie because she was a force to be reckoned with from the word go! She was just not having anything to do with crate training but I think it is going to be a necessity with 2 of them and 1 of me, lol. I am going to figure out how to post pictures on here today so that I can show everyone just how cute they are! Last night I had 3 or 4 puppy dreams and this morning I woke up thinking I heard Indie bark, I hope that is a sign that she approves. Again Thank You all so much and I am really looking forward to chatting with you all in the future. (One more sleep till Daisy n Duke!!!!) |
Oh you are going to have so much fun with 2 little darlings can't wait to see pictures |
