How often, that is the question? ok so i have been wondering about this issue for months now. Hopefully i can finally have an answer. How often can or should I give my yorkies a bath??. |
I've read that you can safely bathe them once a week if using an oatmeal based, moisturizing type dog shampoo. I personally wouldn't bathe any more often than that unless my girl got dirty or something. :) |
I think it depends on your Yorkie (allergies? skin sensitivities?) and the type of shampoo and conditioner you use (natural is better, IMO.) I bathe Blazer every Friday and clip his nails right after. |

ok thats what ive been doing . once a week bath. i do use natural shampoo. he has no allergies... thank you so much |
I bathe ZoE once a week. Sometimes I push it to about 10 days, but I can't go much more than that. She sleeps in my bed at night, and I can't handle a stinky dog on my clean sheets. |
I bath mine once a week in the winter but in the summer I bath them twice a week. It's hot and humid and they start getting a little smelly plus they swim in the summer and they need to have the chlorine washed out. For mine, twice a week is ok. |
I asked my vet on our last visit. He said every 2-3 weeks unless he gets really dirty or stinky. :) |
It's the long hair.... My chihuahuas stay smelling good and clean for 2 weeks. I use the waterless shampoo in between. But the yorkie every time we go for a walk he smells funny. The waterless shampoo is great but my vet says the more you bathe the more oily the hair will be therefore it will trap more bad odors. |
Joel is gross if I go past 1 week:D |
I had be doing Galen every 2 weeks |
We do it once a month when she is groomed. |
Oh wow, ok thank you very much YT friends. All is very helpful. :) lol i dont like my furbabies stinky on my bed either. ;) |
