is my yorkie purebred? http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL94.../406537757.jpg http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL94.../406554976.jpg Hello the yorkie in the pictures is named cooper, he is about 6-7lbs, and I was having second thoughts he was purebred by how his ears folded over at the tips... is this common in yorkie's? or do you think maybe he has something else in him? he has a docked tail and has the same hair and size as a standard yorkie, but I just wasn't sure. either way it wouldn't change the way I feel about him, I was just wanting to make sure; and see what everyone else thinks, yes I am aware I do not have registered papers, I was just looking for opinions.. thank you so much!!! (: |
Yorkies come in all sizes- the standard is between 4 to 7 lbs. Some are smaller, some are larger, from what I've read on this site. Some have both ears up, some 1 ear up, 1 down, and some with both down. He looks all yorkie to me, with cute ears too! :) |
Copper is a little doll and looks all yorkie to me. My Sophie ears are slightly tipped sometimes and sometimes they stand, tipped ear are not an indication of a mix. Welcome to YT :) |
Cooper looks like a Yorkie to me! Do you have the top 1/3 of his ear hair trimmed off, front and back? Sometimes the hair on the hair on their ears makes it hard for them to stand up? If you haven't, give it a try and let us know what happens. It may be that Cooper just has really cute floppy tipped ears! LOL I think he's adorable!! |
All yorkie |
I'm no expert but he looks all Yorkie to me :) |

Thanks everyone, you guys are great! ;) |
Yorkie for sure and a cute one too ! Just trim those ears getting all the exes hair off front, back and edge, gently massage them a few times a days and they should stand up. :) |
He is precious and looks all Yorkie to me too Genea |
