I thought that reducing the amount of calories at 1 year of age and maintaining the same amount of exercise was enough. But the doctor said that like humans, dogs' metabolisms can continue to slow down as they age.
Also like humans, dogs vary as individuals. Teddy's metabolism is definitely faster than Max's. They eat the same amount of food and are about the same height, but Teddy is built thinner. |
