Is it ok to Get another fur baby ? Hi Everyone! I am thinking about adding another furbaby to my family but I am not sure if it is too soon? I have had Buster for a little over a month now and he is the love of my life((besides my boyfriend..lol)). I want him to have a friend to play with and I just think 2 would be great! Do you think its to soon to add another and if so when is ok to introduce another puppy into the family ? |
Theres only a month difference in age with my two. Potty training was hard but other than that I was happy with my decision to have two pups at once. One usually follows the other. |
We added our second 3 months later...it was the best thing we did! |
I think pets should always come in 2's so they always have a buddy because lets face it we have to leave them sometimes and they always have each other & end up being the best friends in the world! I have 3 yorkies an don't regret the 2nd or 3rd at all! Go for it! |
I love having two, they are so cute together. It was easier to train Lacey because she just followed Chloe, who was 7 months old when I bought Lacey. I'd like a 3rd one day. |
I don't see it as a problem at all. Get him a little play mate. He'll love you all the more! |

I think it is an awesome idea! We are getting our second in Jan and I am sooo excited! :D I wish I would have done it sooner! |
The more the merrier, I always say! ditto! |
I think it is great as long as you can give them a long term stable home. :) |
A few things to be aware of: having 2 *may* make potty-training take even longer, you're going to have double the vet bills (will you be able to afford it?), and the noise level is definitely higher with 2 than with 1 - at least in my experience. It's for the latter reason that I'm sticking with 1 for the time-being. |
I have to agree on the cost. Twice as much dog food, heartworm pills, flea meds and vet bills - all are doubled. I don't think mine are noisier (well, maybe as a group), but I don't let them bark long. We check out the problem and end the noise. TV dogs are our biggest (non-existant) noise problem, sometimes doorbells, too. It is pretty hard to watch TV that has a dog in it. |
I think it would be great! More Yorkie kisses!!!! :D :D :D :D |
Yea I forgot to mention the cost of everything is higher. When I buy flea meds I have to buy a 6 month supply 3 months supply for each dog cause its cheaper that way. Vet costs are definitely higher but I still think its worth it. |
I have always had two dogs - and over the years have often introduced a new little puppy into my home with an older dog. Luckily, I have never had any problems and everyone has become fast friends. But - it does seem that little puppies would easily get along - and it is probably the best time for them to meet a new lifelong friend. Good luck - Carol Jean |
