Welcoming Cruz Cayden to YT!! *waving hello* 4 Attachment(s) Hi Everyone. I posted in a different area and was informed that it would be great to start posting here instead. So here we are! Below is my new baby Cruz Cayden. He is 9 weeks old today and 1.6lbs. Mom is 3lbs Dad was almost 4 so I'm not sure how big he will get. He's a huge chewer and very playful but like all babies away from mommy for the first time he's whining alot. Hopefully tons of hugs and kissies (and a little ignoring) will break him out of it. 1st checkup was today and he's perfectly healthy! (yay) eating well too. Just wanted to say hello. I've never had a tiny yorkie his size so I'll be here alot learning from all of you guys. *waves buh-bye!* Attachment 385578 Attachment 385575 Attachment 385576 Attachment 385577 |
He is precious! I get my 9 week old baby Friday and am dying over excitement! I think from what I've read the "guesstimate" is you take the puppy's weight at 12 weeks then double it and add up to a pound on that and that's usually a good way to try and guess their adult weight. Congrats he's beautiful ! |
Your baby Cruz is of course, adorable! He is really young and is missing his mom and little mates. It is hard to tell at that age how big he will get.... If I was to guess, it would be 4-5 lbs......sure is cute! |
Hi Cruz, you are gorgeous! Hi Cruz' Momma!! |
Hello Cruz!! Looks like in one of the pictures you had totally gotten worn out. He is just adorable. You are going to make a wonderful Mommy. |

You will have lots of fun and support here. I have two words "Bully Stix," (or Buffalo Stix so maybe 4 words lol). You will want to just make sure they are good quality, also some of the cheaper ones STINK after they start to chew them. I get buffalo stix by Canine Caviar from my local pet store. Their source are buffalo that are free range, grass fed and are antibiotic/hormone free. I'm sure others here can provide you excellent Bully Stix resources as well. I tried all kinds of nylabones and the like but it was not until the Buffalo Stix that my Bentley finally had something that really satisfied his chewing needs. When he's teething real bad I have watched him chew for almost 30 minutes straight on one. |
So cute, looks like my boy also 9 weeks, just watch for hypoglycemia when they are that young, and remember you will be the one teaching him proper behavior since mom and littermates are not around to do it. My first boy was 1lb 2 oz at 9 weeks and now at 8 months weighs 4 lb and his brother weighs 3 lb 9 oz, same height and length just mine is more muscular. So I will guess yours will probably be over 4 lbs but only time will tell. My new guy is already looking like he will be bigger since at 7 1/2 weeks he weighed 1 lb 9 oz, 9 week vet visit Wednesday. |
Welcome to YT!! Cruz Cayden is just the cutest ever! :) Yeah, it is still a little early to guess his adult weight, and after that...it will be a guess (although educated). His parents are pretty small (the mom is dangerously small to breed) but just based on parents size and his age and weight now..I think you are going to have an adult Cruz on the smaller side of the scale. Probably 4 to 5 lbs, but again...this is just me wanting to guess so we can come back in a year and see how I did LOL! :D I love that little shirt you have with his name on it. Too presh! |
Cruz is a little bundle of adorableness. Congratulations! :) |
