Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say hello as I am new to the site. I have a 3 year old yorkie named Steve. We recently lost our little girl of 15 years and are looking for a companion for Steve. Can some direct me in the best way to find a reputable breeder. I have a woman who wants to sell me a Parti female for $2800.00. I am not sure if this is the correct price range, any help would be great!:aimeeyork

So sorry for your loss. I am happy you have decided to find a new friend for Steve. Please look around on the For Sale and Breeders Talk section for more "pricing" info. Just like anything else we buy, it is worth what we want to pay for it.

Once again, welcome, looking forward to sharing and learning with you.

There are many good breeders but you have to know what to look for!! This thread posted by one of our members has a bunch of good info..... take a look!!

Hi everyone,
This is kind of an urgent question. As I told you, I have a chance to purchase a parti yorkie from a woman her in Otisville, New York. She is not on the puppy mill list. Has anyone ever heard of Doreen Biasi? I have no problem paying the $2800 for the pup, just want to make sure all is legit. She has sent me pics of the baby, pics of the shot records. She has a health guarantee, I have spoken to a reference she gave me and the woman gave great reviews. She is willing to have someone bring the pup to Buffalo for me. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I do have a photo, just not sure how to attach.

You want my honest advice? What *I* would do? If so here it is...

Pass on this pup. The pic of the parents actually posted of them "conceiving" kind of makes me go, "What? Really? You posted that?"

*She breeds AKC dachshunds; how did the yorkie get in the mix? At the bottom of the page it talks about a friend in FL* Don't like that at all

*She appears to either broker these Yorkies or breeds Yorkies as a side note to her dachshunds - not good either way, IMO

*That price is outrageous for what you are getting

Okay, with all of that said, what I *would do* is pass on this one and research some NY breeders that are listed on the ytca.org website. You just lost a precious baby of 15 years - don't risk "not knowing what you're getting"..find a reputable breeder at YTCA that will give health guarantees (edit to add - I just saw that you said Doreen does this..still risky in MY opinion) and that breed for betterment of the Yorkie breed and standard. If you got a pup that ended up having health issues and getting ill or worse, that would just be a punch in the gut after your so recent loss.

Probably a good decision.... The web site pics really don't do the breeder much justice either...

Good for you. I went to that website, and there were lots of things I did not like, and thinks I wanted to see but did not.

The overall impression of her website, is that it looks very much as if her goal is to "sell" puppies. The marketing hype leaves me cold.

I wanted to see: Health guarantee, Health screenings, Information about the Yorkshire Terrier, Puppy Care, Questionnaire to fill out. What does she do for her dogs in terms of training, competing, et al.

Infor on the YT should include - personality, looks, structure, Health concerns of the breed.

If you are interested in the Parti YT then there are some breeders on here that breed them.

Welcome to YorkieTalk! I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad you decided to pass on this breeder there where a few things that seemed off to me and it seemed kinda distasteful to put the picture of conception.

You guy's have been so helpful. Now this woman wont stop texting and calling. Scares me!! Definitely passing, good advise by all and greatly appreciated. If anyone hears of any female pups or breeders in the Buffalo, Rochester are could you please let me know.

Hello and welcome to YT. I agree with the others. I would pass on the puppy. I would not trust that person. I live near ottisville. I have not heard of her. Good luck in your search.
