4 wks is still too young to tell. He may appear big at first because he has all that milk to himself. It's a wild guess at this point. He has so much changing to do yet. Would love to see pics! Irene |
thank you, feel better now..we will wait and see at about 10 weeks and see where he is,started him on cerial today...thanks again |
At 8 weeks you triple the weight and twelve weeks you double the weight and that gives you an approximate weight. 4 weeks is too young to tell. |
He sounds like one of my Christmas hams! Would love to see pictures of the little tyke! |

I'm willing to bet my Yorkie will be the biggest yet. I took him to the vet at 14 weeks and he weighed 4 pounds (couldn't believe that - he seemed bigger to me). But anyway I think he has gotten a lot bigger over the few weeks since then. It will be interesting to see what he weighs when we go back. One reason I think my Yorkie will be large is because he is one mean lean Yorkie machine. He doesn't appear to have much fat - so he won't be losing any of that. I was told that he will weigh between 5 and 10 pounds (makes me think that one of his parents was big.....) I wrote to the breeder - and ask for his parent's weight - pictures, etc. Hope I hear from her. I didn't want a tiny Yorkie, but I didn't want a springer spanial either! Time will tell!!!
