Hello everyone, I spoke with the breeder he states he is pure Yorkie and did say he will email me the papers.. Anyhow 100% or not he is very sweet and playful. I was wondering though, will hos ears stand up eventually and will his hair become long and silky like most Yorkie breeds? He is quite a character, s. Brave and fearless.. My 5 month old toby (Shih tzu) is definitely not alpha like him.. I jingle my keys and toby runs but on the other hand I drop my keys and Jax just stares haha... I am very curious to know how he will turn out to look like as he reaches his adolescence stages. If anyone has an idea go ahead and share it with me I would like to know :) |
My guess is this may be a mix. Adorable baby Jax, is well adorable mix or not. |
Hi Danny, I believe that the majority of Yorkies' ears stand up eventually, but not all do. My Bella is 12 weeks old and her ears are showing no sign of standing up whatsoever. She looks cute with floppy ears, though, so if they never stand up, I'll be okay with that. You can read about people taping their Yorkie's ears so they stand up, but I'm not going to sweat it. If they stand up, fine, and if they don't, fine. Oh, people also say shaving the hair off the upper half of the ear helps them stand up, too. |

It just annoys me that this so called breeder would try & tell you he's purebred. I'd like this breeders name so people on YT know not to do business w/them. |
4 Attachment(s) Here are both our babies :) 5 month toby (Shih tzu) and 2 month Jax (Yorkie/Yorkie poo I think :) they are starting to get along somewhat better.. Jax is the aggressive one toby just won't leave him alone haha.. Jax's claws are very long and sharp.. He also woke me up this morning, he howls like a wolf lol.. |
1 Attachment(s) Hi Danny, here's a photo of my Bella at 8 weeks. |
Bella is a very gorgeous looking Yorkie, thank you for the picture! |
Your babies are cute. Your Shih Tzu looks almost completely white. I only see a tiny bit of gold on the face near the eyes. Is this the case? Did the breeder say which registry the papers are for? Please let us know when you get the papers. I hope all goes well for you and your kids. :) |

Yes I did I bought him from someone innhialeah Hahaha at 350 because I made a far drive.. Lol I had the choice to get a smaller one but he was humping toby excessively non stop... But other than that it was a very good looking pup haha |
Cute pup...and looks like you may have found his sibling! I too agree that your new cutie is not 100% yorkie. I have 2 yorkies and 2 yorkie mixes...They are all wonderful babies! Im sure Jax will be awesome too! Just too bad the breeder lied to you! Although $350 for a purebred yorkie is almost unheard of...that should have been your first hint!! Ps. Welcome to YT!!! |
Yes indeed I purchased him from a couple in hialeah at 350 because I made a far drive..i had the choice to get a smaller one(which im guessing you have now) but he was humping toby excessively non stop... But other than that it was a very good looking pup haha is he still humping?. Anyway, toby is mostly ehite both ears are light brown mocha colored and a small patch on his back. When I first got him at 2 months he was all white no spots. Anyway hownis your puppy doing Bentleymommie? Tell me about him |

2 Attachment(s) I remember seeing Bentleys pup and Jax I did see more Yorkie characteristic on hers. Could it be that hers may be purebred and mine mixed although they're from the same litter?anyhow, these two beautiful Yorkie were supposed to be mom and dad as in was told. Any chance little Jax could be their son? Thanks in advance. |
i mean i dont mind him being mixed at all... Iv'e came to realize the whole point of it all was to find a loving dog who gets along with toby and does not shed too much.I gotta say though when its time to go to bed i have to put them both in seperate places or else jax will start crying and howling then toby tags along and its non stop.. tonight he is sleeping upstairs and toby downstairs. |
Best way to cure that problem....put them in bed with you! :) |
@kendra, yes that sounds like a very good idea actually. I mentioned to my fiance but she had in mind he would probably pee in bed since he's so young..Perhaps you can give me advice. |
Your puppy is very cute. I do not think he is pure though and his parents don't really look pure either. Normally finding a yorkie for a $350 is to good to be true in my opinion. But I'm sure your not gonna love the little cutie any less. You mentioned him crying at night do you have the crate where he can see you when your in bed? |

He is sleeping besides my bed inside a little doggie bed for now. |

Pure yorkie or not, just adorable! |
I'm sure he is an adorable little dog. I hope he makes a wonderful pet for you. It is not unusual for some breeders to show you dogs that are not actually the parents in order to sell the pups as purebred. You didn't pay a whole lot of money for him so it really doesn't matter that much. It just isn't nice for a breeder to do that to people. Your picture seems to show a kind of curly coat? Not sure if that will straighten out or not. You may want to get him used to being combed on a regular basis because that coat will probably really need it as he gets older. You want to get ahead of any mats that might develop. Your Shih Tzu is adorable. I've never seen an all white one before. Does she have spots on her back? |

All white Shih Tzu is cute for sure. I love the all white dogs...Maltese, Westies, Bichon, etc...but the Shih Tzu breed club doesn't mention 'all white' in their colors, even though, for conformation, all colors are acceptable, and I thought it interesting that 'all white' Shih Tzu was being made into a concerted effort. Danny1909, you might try a soft carrier for you pups and put it on your bed. They will be right with you, but your bed will still be protected from accidents. Brody and Mia both sleep with us...did from the start, but we got them when they were 14 and 17 months old. They are actually only 6 days different in age...we just got them 3 months apart. As they get older, they will adjust to your routine better. You have to think of them as infants...babies for now and treat them that way. Maturity will bring many changes. In the meantime, you have lots to love! :D |

When I first got Tibbe and until he was trusted enough not to pee in the bed, I put him in his small plastic-case airline carrier with the little bars for a door and I would stick my fingers through the bars to touch him. He'd fall asleep with his chin on my fingers and eventually, when I was certain he could hold it all night, he came out of the carrier for half a night and then fully out. I had also bought him a doggie stairs and was teaching him to use that to get off the bed so he could get down if he needed to piddle. I had closed the bedroom door so he couldn't get to the rest of the house in case he did jump down and put pee pads around and once or twice at first he did use those but in time he learned to sleep through the night without peeing. I opened the bedroom door, took up the pee pads and he was then fine. But first thing on waking, I would take him outside immediately so he could relieve himself. |
Welcome to YorkieTalk, Danny! Your new puppy is adorable! I know everyone has made it through the puppy days with whatever worked for owner and puppy, and a good night's sleep definitely works for all! ;) I purchased a small round puppy/cat bed for Eva (our first Yorkie) to sleep in at night, because she was so small. I put her in the little bed by my side at night (in our bed) and Eva slept all night. I think the little bed gave her security and being beside me let her know she wasn't alone. I wrote that she slept all night, and she did, but during the first weeks she would wake up at least once during the night with a whimper. I would take her straight away to the piddle pad and she would use it, everytime. That might not work for everyone, but it worked with Eva. When Bella came home to us, she was almost 5 months old, and by then Eva was already 5 months old. I ditched the little round bed and Eva and Bella have slept with us everynight since. IF they ever have to relieve themselves during the night, they will wake me up by licking my face. I don't know why they do that, but it works. :D |

Haha the licking in the face sounds like a perfect way to say I gotta potty. Anyway I will put hi . On our bed tonight and im sure he won't mind that at all. Today I woke up to Jax crying for attention. I then left to work but he was crying historically I don't think he likes being alone.. |
