Booda Bones? Have any of you ever heard of Booda Bones? A co-worker included some in a gift bag for Cooper, but I have never heard of them before and thought I would reach out to you wonderful ladies before I gave them to Cooper. Thanks! |
I have never given them. I just did some BRIEF research on google. I am sure you could probably come up with a past recall on anything if you looked long enough. With that said, I saw several things about recalls. The ingredients are not that great but a lot of treats aren't great on ingredients. They did come up on a list of treats that either come from or have some sort of association with ingredients coming from China. I probably wouldn't use them for Mandie but I'm way over protective of her so you come to your own conclusion. :) |
I have heard of them but never really looked at them or used them. Make sure there not made in China if they are I would toss them. |
Thanks, ladies. I think I am just going to toss them. I did a bit of research on them and found that they are made primarily of cornstarch. Yuck! Now that his adult teeth are coming in, the vet said to stop giving him Nylabones because the rubber wears down their teeth, so I need to search for an alternative. If you have an good suggestions, I would appreciate hearing them. |
I think one of the best chews around are Himalyan Chews (if you can get your pup to chew them - Mandie just walks around with them and hoards them) and Bully Sticks (bestbully's are really high quality and I trust them). |
Bully sticks rule in my home. Bentley's favorite is the coil type. He's still teething pretty bad so the shape of them are perfect for him to turn his head to the side and chew. He's a happy boy with his bully. |
Thank you ladies! |
Many years ago we gave them to our first Akita all the time but then they just stopped selling them (at least the big ones). But I probably wouldn't give them to Joel anyway for the choking part. |
I wouldn't use them. No way no how. If you are looking for a chew I would recommend Bully Sticks or Himalayan Chews, those are all natural. Be cautious of how your pet does after chewing them. Some dogs just can’t tolerate them, also the bully sticks can hold bacteria on them. |
