help! ok as most of u know I have a 10 month old yorkie named swayzee and she is fully potty trained well the past few weeks she has been starting to pee and poop on things. even though she goes out every hour! whenever her or sprinkles (my other yorkie) cry they go out. I don't know what to do anymore. today after bathing my daughter I feed them and then went outside with them so they can have their potty break and they both went. I swear no longer then 3 minutes later swayzee jumps on the couch and poops. I even have pee pads down and honestly I don't know what else to do. I have even took her to the vet and he says she is healthy. my husband is getting tired of this. hes to the point I have to give her up. I have a pen just for them I take them on walks daily I let them out often I play with them I feed at 10am 2pm and 7pm. idk what else to do. any ideas? I really don't want to rehome her. right now she is in her kennel. and I feel so bad. any help is very much needed! |
Sounds like Swayzee may have fallen off the potty wagon. LOL It's not uncommon for Yorkie's to take a year or more to completely potty train so don't give up. It could be behavioral or maybe medical? Maybe she's just asserting her dominance all of a sudden. I'm really not sure but I bet someone with more knowledge than me will be along shortly to help you out. Love your pups name! |
thanks so much! I can deal with potty on the tile but my hubby is so mad about her doing it on the couch and its not the first time. :/ |
I am no expert, but sometimes, when they are outside they forget to do their business. They get distracted and follow their nose! My 9 month old does this a lot. She comes in and then needs to go back out because she didn't finish the job! She is so A.D.D! |
lol I see that happen so much with them but I stay outside with them till they pee and poop |
Start over with the potty training. Like from square one, as if she knows nothing. Crate train her. Yorkies have a rep for regressing on potty training. My first advice would have been to check her with your vet. But since you said she is healthy, start potty training. |
