Was he a breeder dog? I know a yorkie breeder that did that her breeder dogs lived in their crates never having any human interaction. She no longer has dogs and no longer breeds and is in the process of losing her home. Karma is a bitch |
Dog walking on grass Aol did not say much, just that it was a puppy mill dog and caged for 12 years. How anyone could treat an animal like this is beyond belief. Must have been a male as a female could not produce for that long?? Thank God he got out to a loving home, but so sad he was in the cage for so long. Do puppy mills keep dogs working for so long?? |

My very 1st Rescue, Audrey that I adopted came from a puppymill. She was 8 1/2 yrs old when we adopted her. She walked the same way this poor baby did. Audrey was terrified of grass. After about 6 months with us she learned to like it and go potty in the grass, instead of the patio. |
Puppy mill Oh no!! I never knew they may kill the poor dogs when they were no longer useful. Have these people no soul?? It is a wonder then that this poor dog escaped and will have a few years of a loving home. |

My Daisy is a mill dog I actually picked her up from the greedy breeder that surrendered her myself. She said Daisy had never once been out of her cage in almost 7 years. Daisy couldnt walk when we got her...her little back leg muscles had atrophied from being in to small of a cage with no movement. The muscle slowly got stronger and she walks totally normal now but for some reason will not step on grass still. I have had her for 5 years. It took about two years for the mental scars to fade she is happy now I and I hope doesnt think about those horrible caged days ever!!! Number one reason to meet your breeder AND the puppies parents when you purchase a dog or even better rescue...supporting this abuse of dogs is disgusting!!! |
Tibbe had been confined to a cage his first 9 mos. of age and was scared of grass, concrete and the house and the car and me and sounds in the house - TV, AC, fridge. Took him about a year to come around and lose 99% of his fears and become a happy and healthy dog. I pray this poor sweet baby can find a good life now outside of its hellhole and free. I hope the rescue homers are long-experienced with handling abused dogs. |

Sorry! I didn't see she is your dog! I'm having eye issues today and didn't read all of your post and am glad that you are her new owner. You, being a dog-lover, will give her the time and patience and leadership that she needs to rehab. I'm so glad she is out of that place. |
