My baby cried for the first two nights a lot. They say to just ignore them & not give in.. Which is good advice. I just got Bella a few weeks ago & now she loves her crate. I set up her stuffed animals on her bed for her but she'll go & rearrange them to her liking. They need stuffies to feel like they're not alone.. She also has everything she needs for the night. Pee pad, food, & toys. The articles I've read also suggest setting the crate up on the other end of your house which is a must. The first couple nights she'll cry pretty loud but each night after that will get less and less. I also keep a nightlight on for her & we figured out that a sound machine calms her greatly. :aimeeyork After a couple nights, she will be ok. Good luck & I hope I've helped some :) |
Our Lambeau came to us @ 10 weeks old, and we were prepared for alot of crying/whinning @ nite time, since that is what we experienced when our daughter brought home her little guy. We were so surprised when he slept thru from 10pm potty til I get up @ my normal 4:15am. We have a crate inside an ex-pen in the dining room and when its bed time, into the crate he goes and we don't hear another thing til 4:15 or so. He is now 5 months old and still has the great bedtime habits. Now, if for some reason we forget and just have him in the ex-pen and not closed in the crate, he does cry & bark in the wee hours. Routine, Routine, Routine! Just like kids, each one is different. Here's good luck to you with your new fur-butt kid! |
