Need some opinions re: traveling in the RV ok so we're leaving Monday for an 8 hour trip in our RV..and not sure how to keep Daisy in it. I mean, we can walk around in it...but I wouldn't want her to stumble, etc....so Im not sure how to keep her. I have a small crate (like the cat carrier types) that she does fit in..think I should try keeping her in that while we're driving? i was hoping to get a bag/tote for her for xmas..but I dont think thats happening :( Who else has taken their babies in an RV? |
I think she should be fine once she gets her sea legs. I would just hold her if you get into traffic or something. Chances are good she'll just sit on your lap and look out the window anyway. |
I'll tell you, if they are anything like my boys, Mom's lap is the best place to be :) They ususally don't wander around too much after we're on the road they either find a soft spot on the couch or on my lap. One tip, if they want to be on your lap, place a regular pillow for them to lay on while they're on your lap, it saves your legs... |
You also need to restrain them for their safety and yours! I put the harness on Snoodles and attach it to the seat belt with the leash. That way, she can't jump into the steering wheel (which Snoodles did once, and almost caused my demise) and if you happen to get into a wreck, it might save her life! I have a crate I use to put her in, but she howled like a banshee. Also the car seat she howled. So, this is the only way that is some safe I will take her. Pat |
Thanks for the advise! I will definetly do the harness and leash thing! She does love to sit on my lap..so unless she starts to fuss or want to wander around (which I doubt) I'll let her stay with me (unless Im going to fall asleep, then I may crate her!) She also gets car sick..so Im curious how she'll do in the RV, being its so much bigger than the car. |
