Not Eating So my parents started giving Bentley ham and I kept tellin them to stop because its not good for them, as a matter of fact no people food. So today my dad came home with ham and said he was gonna give it to him and I said no dont do that. But lately he hasnt been eating his food. So my dad said no more ham and if he doesnt eat his food then o well. So now Im feeling like the bad guy.... will he eventually eat? They wont stare themsevles will they? |
This is why I feed mine very little people food. No he wont starve himself just keep offering him his food. |
I bought a little round thing a ma gig at the dollar store. It has a hole through the middle and I put her food in there and make a big deal of it. She will not eat out of her dish, but eats everything in this thing. It is not too big, so once it worked, I bought three of them in case this one gets ruined. I am afraid that I do feed Snoodles human food! But,. only good food. I feed her in the morning with my birds. She gets cut up vegs, fruit, chicken, and maybe some pasta if I have it. I figured looking at the ingredients on a dog bag, this is kpretty good. But, that is the only time. In fact, I have a little doggy bed in the kitchen and when we eat, she lays down on it and waits until we are through. I guess because I have never fed her ldirect froml the table! Good luck and I am sure Bently will start eating soon. They can be buggers as they really have a mind of their own. Ham is really a bad thing to give them. They don't need the salt, etc. Pat |
Oh no! Ham is terrible for them because of the high sodium/salt content. Make sure Bentley is drinking and doesn't get dehydrated. A healthy dog will not starve itsself to death. I believe what the other poster is talking about is a "kong" that she puts the food into. I would definetly try and get Bentley back on the hard kibble....remember, they can be VERY stubborn and will push you as far as they can to get their own way. I believe that people food leads to people diseases. Hope your baby eats for you soon, I am sure it is stressing you out. |
Kelsey likes ham...I feed her a little people food but not much. She eats her food still though, so I dont know what to tell you? I hope she eats soon. :) |
If worst comes to worst go to the grocery store and get him some Lil Caesars. Some of the pickiest dogs on here would eat that. |
How old is your puppy and how much does he weight???? How many days has he gone without dog food? What kind of dog food are you feeding him? Absolutely do not feed him Ham! As Julz says it is high in salt and this is not healthy for a little one. It is no different than if you or your Dad ate a diet of high salt, or high fat. Nutrition is very important in these little guys and it really upsets the applecart if you mess around with it. |
Bentley is a year and 2 months, he weighs about 3.5 4 lbs. and its only been like maybe a day without him eatting his dog food but he is a picky eater. Were feeding him dry kibble from Eukanuba. |
