My deepest sympathy to you and I hope all goes well for you. Enjoy your little baby and she will help you through this tough time. Take care of. Susan |
My deepest sympathy to you and your new baby could not have come at a better time. Hugs, Maria and Cooper |
On the first night of Rosie my new pup gave to me... A headache!!! :p When Luma came home she slept all night in the crate. Guess it doesn't run in their genes bc Rosie has been whining aaaaaall night keeping me and Luma awake while bf snores away  I let her out twice to potty and she did go 1 & 2. I've been up since 5 with her...I felt so bad so I brought her to bed but stayed awake so she couldn't fall off. I know she will eventually sleep with us like Luma does but she's only two pounds!!! Doesnt know how to use the stairs yet. We have to work on that asap! She's so little. I forgot how small they are as puppies. |
Also, she keeps trying to nurse off of Luma. I didn't realize it at first because I thought they were plaaying but she tries to go under Luma and nurse. Haha. She is eating kibble just fine so I'm not worries about her not being fully weaned. Luma does look a lot like their mommy :p they are full sisters and I totally think they can tell. Luma's just like uhh.. bar's closed, kid! |
hahaha that is so funny!! im sure shell be better in a couple of nights its all new for her!! luma is being a very good girl it sounds like!! hope you get some rest.. |
ahh first night is sometimes hard, but it sounds like Luma is letting her get near her so that's a good sign. I am assuming the crate was in your room. When you bring her in bed you could try putting her in a small ring type bed, this way she might feel snug and stay put and you will not be afraid of rolling on her. Lola sleeps on our bed but in her own small bed and she really likes that. My sister's dog is older and sleeps on the bed but moves around a lot, one night she got in bed with Lola and I and her moving drove me crazy, the next night I put her in another little bed on my bed and she slept through the whole night without moving. Just an idea to try if you are having trouble getting her settled down. As I am sure you know you will need to have so much extra patience in the coming month, but I know you will be great mommy to Rosie just like you are to Luma |
sorry for your Loss of your grandmother/ congrats on your new baby |
Congrats!!!! I was so busy last night at work that I am just getting to check in and see how its going. It sounds like Luma hasn't missed a beat. I know Rosie and Luma will help heal your heart. So exciting that she is home! Congrats, again! :D |
Hehe! I totally cracked up at the "bar's closed, kid" comment. :D I think it is awesome that they are full sisters. I bet that is going to help them create a true bond. Maybe you could put the crate in the bed? Or another version of the crate...like up between yours and Tony's pillows so she's in the middle..? Just thinking out loud here. |
That is so cute. I hope they will be best buddies. Can't wait to see pics of her dressed up. |
Aw! She's so cute! Sounds like you're having fun already! So sorry for the loss of your dear Grandmother... My Deepest Sympathies and prayers for you and your family. |

Congrats on the puppy. Trinket puts a smile on everyone that looks her way. Hope yours does the same. |
I taped Rosie's ears today. Yesterday she had one up one half up and they both went down now but hopefully the tape works! She's so sweet, y'all. Loves to climb all over me. She cries if I leave her sight for even a second. Working on her knowing her name, come, and no biting. It's a lot different than when Luma came home bc Luma was bigger and immediately owned the place. Rosie is still shaking a lot and has trouble jumping out of her pen :p the entrance has a like 3 inch raised part she has to climb over lol. She is so tiny compared to when Luma was a baby that it almost scares me! She's really not that tiny, but it is to me when compared to my 7 lb 9 oz girl :) She flopped over onto her side for the first time and discovered the magic of belly rubs :) Sooo cute! Luma is warming up to her well and doing really great. They slept right next to each other with rheir daddy earlier. Luma is showing some dominance not really biting but placing her teeth on Rosie's neck while they play. I assume its normal and am trying to let them figure it out. She eats ok, but takes a piece of kibble out at a time and eats very daintily unlike my monster who gobbles her food down in ten seconds flat. It's extremely cold here the past couple days so trying to keep the heat on and making sure Rosie is comfy. Potty training...eh. Its a work in progress! :) Anywho, thank you to every person who has kept my family in their prayers and offered their condolences. The funeral was this evening. My dad is doing okay and his whole (humongous) family is there right now. Sorry I haven't replied to every pm or post, I have read them all and truly appreciate the uplifting messages. I feel better and more normal now than I did before Rosie got here. You guys are the best  |
I'm so happy to read that Luma is accepting Rosie. Sounds like she's being the big sister and showing Rosie who is in charge so good deal. I am really happy you were able to get Rosie when you did. Seems it was meant to be :) Oh! Hey - you can change your signature now :D |
Congratulations! Rosie is absolutely adorable and she obviously loves her mom. I'm very happy to hear the girls are doing well together. Enjoy! I'm so sorry for your loss of your grandmother. Glad to hear your dad is doing okay and has lots of support. With my family spread out all over the country, I know how hard it is to be far away. |
I can't wait to see videos!! |
