While I try to hold my biewers until they are 12 weeks old, sometimes the puppies are really ready to go at 10-12 weeks. If their mama ignores them, or it is a big litter, there is a fear period that develops between 10-14 weeks, and sometimes it is better for the puppy, if the puppy is healthy and over 2#, to go home with the new puppy parents as long as the breeder is near-by.
Sounds like things are going great, and if you have any questions that aren't being answered, you can always write me. | Thanks for that...I felt really bad/scared taking her, but when we went too the vet the day after I got her, she was 2.1 lbs and has been eating and drinking fine so it turned out okay. She was the only one from her litter, the "breeder" said the other one died. That was one red flag for me, but I do know it happens. My other regular Yorkie, Sami, was one out of two that lived as well. There were some other red flags but I don't think they were that bad, just not that great. Thanks for the offer of help with questions...I'm sure I will have some!:) |
