***2013 Raffle Prize Came!!! Thanks alaskamike, Doodlebug & CedricNLola!!!***
 

Tibbe got a present in the mail Thursday and I wiped out my first long post about it last night by the click of the wrong tab - but today, I'm trying again!!!

After winning a prize of doggie booties donated by alaskamike in the 2013 YorkieTalk Raffle, I was going to donate it to a non-winning ticket buyer until Doodlebug/Jean suggested we switch prizes. We don't have a lot of cold weather in Texas and didn't really need doggie booties and Jean's Yorkies had plenty of clothes already but her little ones needed booties. She had won a gift certificate to CedricNLola Cedric N Lola | Facebook on Facebook and on the web Cedric N Lola#. We switched prizes and when I couldn't find anything on her website Tibbe might wear(he's not much for wearing clothing) - I asked her to just make us some simple doggie blankets.

Imagine my surprise when she emailed me pictures of these two wonderful oval, fleecy, lined and canine haute-couture doggie blankets, so chic and trendy in pawprint and bone patterned cozy fabric!!! They are so soft and rich-feeling, still fairly light-weight but so cuddly, I can see years of much use of both. Tibbe loves to have his own little blanket to build a nest and cuddle into when napping on the couch or even on the bed. He can dig and nest and mound it up just as he wants before lying down. He absolutely loves both of them and I want to thank alaskamike/Mike and CedricNLola/Melanie for donating their gifts to the Raffle, allowing Jean and I to switch and for Doodlebug/Jean for offering to switch. We both wound up with things we needed and are happy as can be.

I can't wait until the 2014 YorkieTalk Raffle!!!

Boy, they both did great and thank you, Tibbe smiles most of the time - especially when on his blankets and cuddled up. But not always. When the camera is in his face too long, he will begin to lose his good spirits and starts to rebel. I get a lot of snorting at picture time if I take more than two or three. He's sure got his own mind!

He's LOVING these blankets. Well, one is put up for vet trips and trips in the car and he's now usuing the darker one with bones on it around the house. He's so happy on it - knows it is his very own and came as a present in a box for him. I swear he understands when I come in with a present in a box it is for him! He instantly gets excited!!! He does "smile" a lot! Who can ever be down around a dog that smiles?!?!?!

Haha. He's a happy dog unless he sees endless camera! Then I get a stinkeye.

He's loving those blankets. He so loves the box they came in he's still playing with that. And the brown one - he's using that one on the couch to cuddle up in for naps.

It was great how it worked out and Tibbe got cuddle-blankets and Jean's kids got their booties to keep their tootsies warm!

They were just what we needed and thank you for the compliment. Tibbs is no show-dog but he's a little star in my world. He puts extra into all that he does.

And he would hug you back. He loves people! And we're convinced now we couldn't have lived without those blankets. My feet were cold today and I even wrapped the brown one around them while Tibbe was barking out the front window/watching for the cat. The fabrics Melanie used are super-soft and buttery feeling. No wonder Tibbe loves to dig that brown one up into a tall nest and kind of sink down into the middle!

I LOVE Tibbe's smile! How stink'n cute! I was sitting here smiling back at him! He's so cute! What gorgeous blankets! No wonder Tibbe is smiling!

Haha. He does smile! He dog-laughs all the time, too. Mouth open, happy panting when he's trying to entice you to give in to something he wants - such as go outside, do his training or chase him or play hide n seek with him. And we didn't even know there were such things as those kinds of blankets - lined with furry fabric on one side and that buttery-soft on the other and so chic. Tibbe's old blankets were just plain old, plain old one-thickness with a hem in them. That's all I had wanted and then I get these! haha. Didn't know there were special blankets or fancy blankets like this! I'd seen blankets with a sort of pocket on one end for the dog to partially get in but that's all I knew of. Now I'm hooked and Tibbe will always have to have fancy ones like this when these get old and faded from use and washing!!! Melanie went far out of her way to do all of this for Tibbe!

Cindy, how's it going after your surgery? How are you feeling? Are you having to be on a special diet or can you eat pretty much normally?

Hi there...I am supposed to be on a low fat diet..basically what I ended up with was Pancreatitis from the ERCP and the gallstones. I had a stent put in that they are taking out onMay 10. I feel ok, but the only way I am able to describe how my stomach feels is like when you have just drank too much water and you have that sloshy feeling in your stomach. Most days seem great now however last night I had my parents for Easter Dinner and we cooked prime rib and I also had a glass of wine so had a bit of a bad night feeling sick, so will be a little more careful till this thing is over...oh boy..who would have thought huh???lol

Ooeeww - that doesn't sound pleasant at all. Maybe a little too much oomph in that food or the wine for your system. When my sister had gallbladder problems and stones, she was on such a restricted diet for 6 weeks afterward - I felt for her.

Oh goodness how I do love prime rib and can't blame you for having some on Easter! Hoping that you can find a happy medium state of existence soon where you can count on feeling better more regularly and still eat well enough not to be left wanting. Feeling bad is such a bummer and no fun! So, back on that low fat diet and taking it easy now. Hoping tomorrow is better. You're on my prayer list. :)
