My runt I get a combination of mild irritation and slight amusement whenever I have Shelby out with me and people ask if she is a teacup. I know many of you are VERY irritated with that term especially when people brag about the teacup they have at home or the new puppy they got. (don't blame you) Well, yesterday I was out walking with my little girl and someone asked how old she is and commented on her being smaller than most Yorkies she has seen. Then she asked me if she was a runt? I cracked up. Thought about you guys and how happy that comment would make you! yay. Someone knows a runt when they see one. Course I had to tell her she wasn't just the runt of the litter. She "was" the litter. |
LOL! Too funny! I also hate it when people refer to them as teacups. But I don't have that problem w/ them calling mine that because he's more of a teapot! :D |
LOL! Yorkies come in all sizes, and we love them all!!!! :D :D |
[QUOTE=shelbysmom Course I had to tell her she wasn't just the runt of the litter. She "was" the litter.[/QUOTE] Trace is an "only" child too :) I like to refer to myself as my brothers' smartest, best looking sister....course I am their only sister :D |
To me, I don't get offended when I hear the word t-cup. It's just a word used to describe size by the general public. Now, what I do have a problem with is when breeders try to cash in, for thousands, using that term. Cute story, though. :) |

I can't really be upset with someone that refers to them as "teacups" when they have no knowledge of the breed.... Hopefully anybody that wants a yorkie, chi, or any toy breed dog has researched enough to know that "teacup" is a very relative term used by breeders to get more money (and once they've figured it out, hopefully they stop using the term themselves!) And if you ask me, you shouldn't be buying a dog whose breed you know nothing about anyway! |
Cute story..thanks |

I have never understood why people will study what car they will buy down to the tinest details but when it comes to a living creature, they know nothing. Apparently $$$ wins over caring for a living creature.... |
