Another Yorkie!?! So my Chewbacca is now almost 8 months old. I really think I want another one. :/. Hubby says I am crazy. He told me to wait until we buy a house but I want one now! (Stomps my feet) lol |
LOL! I heare ya! I keep trying to break my hubby down and he keeps telling me we are still paying off the one we got. *sigh* :D |
HAHA! You have the multi-yorkie bug! Can't just have one. :D It's the perfect time IMO. Your first one is young, and should be a great time to introduce a puppy. I always feel dogs are happier with a friend of their own kind. Unless they're a spoiled aging diva like mine that doesn't wanna share mama. :D |
I have 2 boys they are the same age, same liter. I am so happy to know they have each other when I'm not home. They are sooooo bonded to each other. Although, they had a little tiff this morning about who was going to be pet by mama. LOL I let them work it out and got ready for work and pet neither one of them. HA... that might show them! *not*! LOL You'll be so happy to have 2 and know they have each other for company! I do find though, with 2, I tend to leave them home more than when I just had 1 and took him everywhere. Its kind of hard to take 2 everywhere. They are too heavy and big to fit in a bag together also. |
It is the perfect time! I just added a new little one to the family. Max is 6 yrs and Teeka is 8 1/2 months! Teeka and Tatiana love to play together! If you can afford it....go for it! |
there is always petfinder.com to find a rescue which is a bit less expensive and i got keylo as a baby.......you just want to be sure they are honest...puppy love did not tell me keylo had kennel cough or ct, they may never have been told (but they kept her for 5 days so i find it hard to believe she didnt cough once while staying in their home) ....either way i would not return her for all the money in the world. funny once you have one yorkie you can never get enough!! haha. |
I so want to but I understand what hubby is saying. We will probably be moving to Texas this summer and he wants me to wait until we do that. But man I'd have a litter herd of them if he would let me lol |

My hubby and I are considering buying another yorkie as well. I'm not sure if I should get a boy or a girl. I would love for Titus to have someone to play with and keep him company. |

Moving with 1 would be easier, especially if you are going to get a pup. Potty training and moving at the same time might be tough. |

I agree, wait until Chewbacca is a little older so you can see more of his personality, and also wait until you are settled in!! Me personally LOVE having just one. He goes everywhere with me, and I would not be able to lug 2 around so if I did have 2 he would have to stay home. He would not like that at all! He gets so mad when I leave without him.. he turns into a crazy diva!! I’m serious, once I grab my keys and start walking to the door, he gets all crazy and starts barking at me and starts pawing scratching my legs, then I go out the door and push my foot in to stop him from running out and the little turkey almost bites my feet he gets so mad!! LOL Then as I am walking away I can hear him bark all mad because I left him there!! DH always tells me he will wait by the door and pace back and forth until I come home. |

Lately they howl too. Even if I just go outside without them, they howl LONG and loud! Both of them! I wish I could see their faces when they do it. I bet it's hysterical! |

I don't think it's too many!!! I have the same problem I have 2 chihuahuas and 1 yorkie! Can't wait to have another yorkie and mines is only 3 1/2 months!! They are adorable!! Asking as you can care for them, the only problem Im having now is walking mines they all want to. Go a different direction! |
if I could have a herd of yorkies I would, common sense tells me no but my heart says yes please! But if you moving then maybe just maybe you should hold on a bit :( |
I want a little brother for morgan but i have to wait since i have 2 elderly dogs |
A glass of wine (or 6...maybe more) may help quiet that 'common sense' voice in both your and your DH's heads...:sidesplt:...so you can get the playmate you want NOW...:sidesplt: Seriously, It's a decision that every individual must make based on their circumstances. But, I do understand wanting a Yorkie playmate for Chewbacca, too. We got Brody when he was 14 months old, then a few months later, we puppy sat for our friend's Shih Tzu, and Brody, who only had a 1-yr-older, 95 lb non-playmate 'brother' was so forlorn after having a same size, near same age, same energy playmate for that week or so, there was literally no choice in my mind but to get him a 'like himself' friend and companion. I missed out on two rescues. One was a Yorkie/Maltie mix male because the rescue never replied to me (email was the only way to contact them until they brought the rescue dogs to PetSmart on Saturday)...but he was not there and was removed from their website so I assume he was adopted. The other was a Parti Yorkie male who was a little too far away but...;):p:D. As luck would have it, I then found Mia, took Brody to meet her, they hit it off, and when both Brody and Mia were 17 months old...their birthdays are 6 days apart...Mia joined our family. Brody and Mia have been inseparable since then and are very good together. I am certain whatever you decide, you will make the right decision for you. Good luck! |

I had just one yorkie for over 5 years. I swore I would only ever have one. 3 months after I got Ruby I was given the opportunity to get another one for free. I couldn't pass that up. Its been a year now with both Ruby and Rosie and I have never regretted my decision. I will always have two (or more) yorkies provided I can afford them!! |
I remember when I decided to get my 2nd Yorkie. I thought it would be great for Shelby to have a buddy..... so Seymour joined our family. The 2 were inseparable. They did ALL the same things and are so cute together. Then as they got older, I started thinking about the obvious...... what would one do with the loss of the other..... it would destroy the heart of a little dog. Soooooooooooo..... then Seeger joined our family. It is a good mix and they all have bonded in different ways.... it is funny to see the huge difference in the way Seeger plays with Shelby (ruff & tumble) and with Seymour (gentle and submissive). Seymour and Shelby still have the same habits, but not as "glued at the hip" as they used to be. |
