curious about my pups hair...

:confused: so when i got my little girl she was the cutest thing! hair all over looked like a little teddy bear! she is now 4 months and still a cutie! :) ive noticed she doesnt have much hair on her legs...im wondering if it will stay that way or if hair will grow in..hmm..what do you all think??? here are pics of her.

Not sure but she may have a slow growing silky coat, which is worth the wait! She is a cutie.

Huey's hair seems to have a growth spurt starting around 5 months and by 11 months, he was fairly long. The tan parts have always seemed to grow a bit slower and sparser than the black/silver parts. Here he is at 7 weeks, 18 weeks, 5 months and 11 months. Your baby looks right on track comparing to Huey, best I can tell. Huey has a silky coat, and like Patti said, it is worth it once it gets all grown out. Also, his tan parts tangle more easily than the black/silver, I think because that hair is finer and feels more cottony.

That is how my Clyde's legs looked as a puppy, and they are super fluffy now as an adult. Give it a bit of time :) My guess is that her legs will get fluffy in time when her adult hair starts coming in, but I could always be wrong.

thanks! yeah ive noticed when im grooming her the tan parts get more tangled. i love her regardless i was just curious..i guess we will wait and see! :)

In time her hair will grow....either way she is a cutie pie!

I went to a pet store to and fell in love with a tiny 5 month old female yorkie. I didn't buy her because she had no hair on her feet well it was short. The owner said it was a type of yorkie and that its absolutely normal. I wasn't too trusting because she didn't seem healthy, but I did some research and many people said its all genetics and if the hair grows everywhere else you won't be able to tell. Actually more common than you think, don't think you should worry. Maybe give her puppy vitamins

It's a very hard thing to predict. Some do not grow much hair on their legs and others do. You probably won't know until she is full grown.
Having said that, I had a boy that around 4/5 months old, he went through an ugly duckling stage. His hair seemed sparse and straggly (especially on the legs) and I was worried he would stay like that. In the end though he had a very nice silky coat and even the hair on his legs turned out great.

If I had to guess, I would say your girl will turn out like my boy did with a very nice silky coat because I think she looks very similar to how he looked at that age.
