about sleeping I just wanted to see if other yorkies does this or it was just mine. when she a sleep sometime she will move just one paw back and forth for a little while. sometime she might move her tail really fast while she sleeping. but she has made some sound but right before that she will hipup if thats how it's spelled right before she would made sound out of her mouth. she has barked. I know she does dream too. just wanted to know if this is comm in yorkies breeds or just mine. I know every yorkie is different like I said I just wanted to know thats all and thanks for posting something to this. |
Mine has some pretty wicked dreams, that much I'm sure of! I think he dreams here a giant and brave German Shepard. My baby boy runs, chases, growls, and barks while asleep. It's so funny, he rarely barks awake; but when he's sleeping, he's barking up a storm. It's hilarious! I keep trying to get that on video. No luck yet. |
Alfie twitches in all directions when he sleeps and makes a little noise that I call hus bubble bark. |
Yeah, it's common in all breeds, I think. You know how we dream of getting away or flying? They dream of chasing squirrels LOL My big boy does it more than my Yorkie but they both do it. They are dreaming and just running in their sleep. Very cute when they do the muffled bark - Shelby will wake himself up :D |
DO DOGS DREAM ? I think dogs dream. Catching ZZZZZZs. Rubin my old fellow has perfected the ‘fake sleep’ he lays quietly on the sofa if the others bark or he smells something interesting he opens one eye to check it out. If it is not worth getting up for, the eye closes. To really sleep he goes to his crate, fluffs his pillow and arranges his blue blankie. Does he dream, yes and he snores, grunts and does little throat yelps as he goes on one dreaming adventure after another. Gracie makes little growly sounds but, no snores. When she is deeply asleep you can pick her up and move her, she flops like cooked spaghetti. But if something wakes her suddenly, she wakes up barking and ready to bite who or what ever dared disturb her Princess beauty sleep. Ginny Joy snores off and on and stops if, I nudge her. Her little legs do the bicycle and she makes soft little arf, arf sounds. I think she is dreaming of sunshine and running in the grass. She is a peaceful sleeper and looks so angelic, I wish I could paint her puppy sweetness. Abba likes to sleep on his back with his belly in the air. He can’t even imagine a world where he is not safe, spoiled and loved. He sleeps deeply and without worry. If he dreams it must be about girl dogs and treats, He looks like he is smiling. Julia Rose is our baby Parti Yorkie. She sighs, make soft little sucking motions. I have no doubt she is dreaming of mommy milk and a cozy nest snuggle buddies. She will scoot right back against me if I move her away. She is like a mini heater, which would be better if we didn’t live in Florida. Lily is hubby’s Lab is by far the most active in sleep. She must have wonderful dreams. She barks in her throat, moves her legs like she is swimming, makes little snaps like she is eating or catching something, She makes sniffing sounds like she is in hot pursuit of some exotic rare animal, her ears twitch with excitement. She grunts, sighs, and her tail often thumps in a contented little rhythm, like a soft whisking drum beat in a romantic song. |
Tibbe twitches, runs in his sleep, barks, growls, shakes and moves quite a bit when he's dreaming. Once in a great while, he will jerk awake and his ears go back and he'll be shaking and I think he's likely had a bad dream. He'll turn and look at me and looks around the bedroom or den and looks back at me as if to say "Where did he go?" Just as if a big, mean bad guy or something was chasing him. Other times he wakes and is happy as can be and stretches and starts to play and bark and, I guess, tries to resume what he was doing in his dream. But he's never moved his paw and hiccuped in just that pattern as far as I know. |
All of our pups have active dreams! Sometimes they look like they are running in their sleep with all four paws moving and we wonder what they are chasing in their dreams. They are so cute when they are sleeping as when awake! Such interesting creatures to watch, awake or asleep. LOL:D |

she does move from one spot too. when we call her name she don't wake up for nothing. but we have to touch her and sometime she does wake up there. I wasn't to sure if she was dreaming or something else was going on with her. she got to be doing something big in her dream for her to do all that moving that she does |
yeah she has done a lot of moving sometime. she wake up just fine every now and then she will look at u like what just happen or what do u want. but she don't get mad at us when we wake her up or try to I should say. |
yeah it can be cute sometime. I just don't want her to hurt herself while she is dreaming like that and sometime it kind of scare my mom when she does this. I just wish I new what was going on in that little mind of her sometime. |
