The Last Word We have been noticing that Princess Sophie always seems to have to have the last word. Do anyone else's Yorkie's do this? Sophie always ends a conversation with a little yip! LOL It's cute but I think it shows she's being defiant. Is this something I need to curb, if so, how?? |
You'll get different answers to this. I think it's hilarious and part of the Yorkie gene or something. I just laugh at Mandie although I am sure she is being a rebelious girl with her back talk and cussing :D |
Oh yes. I think it doesn't matter the terrier bossy little ones are they lmao |
Totally describing Ruby! I've never had the desire to curb it as overall she is a very good girl and I feel its a part of her personality. I think Im proud that miss Ruby is willing to share her opinion since I was always hesitant to do that when I was growing up! Ha ha. Is that putting human traits on a dog or what! |

He 'guards' ;) us from the top of the sofa, where he can see into our Close and out into our garden. When he sees 'the enemy' he 'sees them off', of course :D When I've had enough, I say "Enough, Harry"....and he stops what he's doing, looks round straight at me and into my eyes, and does TWO more barks  At that point I stand up - and he takes off running up the stairs, as though I've been beating him  And then he sits at the top of the stairs, peering round the banister, waiting for me to resume what I was doing so he can get back to his main job....guarding his mummy!!!! :D Sally + Harry x |

Mine don't do that, but I think it's adorable! |
Last Word Yorkies Gracie is not disobedient. But like a aggravated teenager she cusses under her breath when I tell her no or to stop something. It sounds like this ERRRR Ahhh Ummm. I swear she rolls her eyes behind my back. |

I love when Joel does that:p Then I say no backtalking and he gets even more mad and attacks me |
Oh, the things everyone is describing seem so familiar. I think it's cute too when Sophie does it but just wanted to check with everyone else to see if I should be doing something beside giggling every time she does it!! LOL She keeps us in stitches!! |
Bayleigh doesn't yip, but she sure grumbles and tells you exactly what she wants "you" to do. Her grumbles get more insistent the longer you don't listen to her. She actually got my husband out of his chair yesterday, guided him to my chair and said "put me up there". Trust me, he only does what the dog tells him to do...I'm not so lucky, lol! |

Gracie is my first Yorkie and I have to say she is the first dog I have had that thinks she can talk as well. Dogs may be naughty at times because they don't understand the human mind but they do not have the human capabilities to be evil. I think the Yorkie personality is very tenacious as well as energetic therefore they can be little spitfires with an attitude. It is part of their genetic makeup. While I have had to work with the personality in order to train her I would never want her to lose that tenacious attitude. |
Hermes does this i just use duct tape :) i have opposable thumbs and win |
I love it and Tibbe does things like that all of the time. But he's very well-behaved so I let him have his say on the subject and grouse at me if he wants. Terriers are just Little Bad Attitudes walking around on 4 feet. |
Columbo talks back. I tell him to stop & he continues. I finally yell at him to knock it off and he always gets the last word in. He just continues mumbling under his breath. I know he is swearing like a sailor. If you watch Southpark, just imagine Columbo as Cartman. "Whatever!....I do what I want!" His favorite song is the theme song from Malcolm in the Middle "You're not the Boss of Me". My saving grace is that I'm bigger than him and can just pick him up. |
Katie Scarlett and Mollie (my moms maltese) are sooooo guilty of this! We usually just giggle at them. |
