friend or foe? i'm at my in-law's and they have neighbors with outside dogs. whenever i take bunjee out to potty, one of the other dogs would rush the wired fence that divides the two properties and bark endlessly at bunjee. bunjee started to rush towards the fence too and bark, but i chance after him and stops him. so my question is... with strange dogs, how can i tell if the other dog has friendly intentions or non-friendly intentions? my intuition tells me bunjee and the other dog are not interacting on friendly terms. but it's just a feeling. are there signs that i can look out for to determine the other dog's intentions? |
i would say that if they are barking like a mean bark and wildly probably not good...but if they are wagging tails and all happy may it is a good.....your best bet would be to not find out...LOL! |
My husband passed away last week, the funeral was yesterday. To my utter surprise, one of the distant relatives actually left his black lab mix in his truck and when we came back to the house for dinner, just nonchalantly let his dog in the back yard with my yorkies, without asking first if it was ok. Fortunately, little alpha Lacey put him quickly in his place but on YT this past summer,we had a bigger dog intrude in a yard and kill a yorkie. I was livid. I don't want any other dog with mine unless I know about it first and can monitor the situation. |
I'd be very, very careful. I've seen strange dogs smell noses and act friendly for a minute and then one would snarl and bark suddenly. Dogs can be very unpredictable. |
