Are all yorkies little weirdos? Or is it just mine? Ever since Henri was a puppy he likes to be zipped up in my hoodie with me. When I pick him up or sit on the floor he will try to "dive" into my hoodie, I have to hold him back with one hand and unzip with the other because he is so impatient! He will lean against me while I zip it up and he just stay like that! My mom and I call him joey when he does that because he looks like a baby kangaroo (a joey) in a momma kangaroo's pouch :D Anyone else's little weirdo do anything like this? Or is my little dork the only one?:p:D |
Georgie is so strange LOL. I think the strangest thing he does is watch and try to attack cards when we play. My son is 5 so we play go fish and other card games and Georgie sits there and watches and then tries to get the cards when we discard LOL. Yorkies are truly a unique breed:D |

Mandie hates to put on clothes so she would never do what Henri does. She is weird though. The funniest thing she does (to me) is sit on my computer desk and chase the mouse cursor on the screen lol OH! And, last night she did the funniest thing! She's never done it before so I just burst out laughing - I put an orange vest on her to go outside everytime (deter hawks/owls etc). Anyway, everytime we come in, I say, "Let me take your pumpkin off." She will kneel down and wait while I unstrap the velcro. Welll, last night, when we came in, she ran into the bedroom with hubby immediately. She was sitting on the edge of the bed when I walked in. I started to say, "Let me..." and she immediately DROPPED to her side and rolled over on her back. LOL Sure was easy to get the velcro undone since I could see it! :D |
Jessie likes to "nose" around her food bowl when i bring her her meals. If there is a blanket nearby she tries to bury it. If somethings under it she tries to pull it over it..and she wont drink water out of bowl..total weirdo... |
Lol, these little furbabies are so funny :D |
Oh my goodness. If I tell sugar Mommy has to work. You cant come. I will be back. She BREAKS her neck to not look at me she is so disgusted . Lol |
Mina usually picks out her clothes each morning. If I dont let her she gets pouty and doesnt want to get dressed. If I leave my Juicey purse on the floor she will try to get in it if she thinks that I am leaving. This is her purse and she knows it. If there is another purse on the floor she doesnt care. |
Thanks for sharing this cute story. |
Tibbe is the only dog I have ever had that actually wants to sleep right on the very pillow I sleep on at night. Most dogs want to sleep beside you and move to other spots on the bed through the night but with Tibbe, he mostly sticks right to the pillow beside my head, though he does go other places, too, but usually winds back up on the pillow. |

Jack doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary (except circles a million times if he is happy oh and sticks out his tongue) but Izzy will eat ice cubes (every time we get ice, we have to give her a cube), she will "check on you" if you sneeze - she will come jump in your lap as if to say, "are you okay?" and she will literally put her entire head in her water bowl if she sees something in there that shouldn't be and she is trying to get it out (like a piece of food that she put in there) - I swear she looks like she is bobbing for apples! |
My Male Sneakers... When I return, and it doesn't matter if I just went out to the Truck for a minute, he jumps around and "smiles" (bears his teeth) when I greet him. My Female Becca... When I greet her (after Sneakers) she MUST be picked up where She can give me lots of kisses. My Junior Male Ichabod... Absolutely goes nuts because I haven't greeted him first. Barks, whines and dashes around us, trying to intervene. A definite Alpha "wannabe" ! They ALL... When I call for us to go out into the back yard (have a special call for assembly) they rush out the Doggy Door barking viciously and running back and forth to check out the area. It's a territorial/protection issue, something that's convinced our resident Possum Sweetie, when and when not to visit. |
Oh no, it's not only yours. ;) mine does all kinds of wacky antics. Must be a yorkie thing. Lol |
OH yea... My guys Howl, I don't think that many of our Yorkies do that. It's mainly when they see other Dogs, always at a distance. When it was just Sneakers and Becca, they did it in Harmony. Surprisingly, Becca has a deeper voice then does Sneakers, who outweighs her by 5 lbs. But since Ickey has arrived and joined them, it's more like a Minor 7th  |

OMG! she just started this! I couldnt for the life of me figure out what she is doing...I was starting to wonder if dogs can develop some kind of ocd ritual! I finally give up and walk away and eventually she eats the food like a wolf..but its nose around, sniff, nose around sniff, try and push wall to wall carpet over the bowl, sniff, sniff around the bowl, sniff the carpet or whatever its on, sniff...take a small taste, sniff, nose around, sniff then finally GULP |
I love your 'joey' story, but it is definitely not just your Yorkie. :p Brody and Mia both have all kinds of weirdnesses...too many to list, but yeah, Mia covers food, 'sings' (howls) and is teaching Brody, who now 'sings with her...my Yorkie-Poo 'sang' too...Brody likes to cuddle in your clothes and Mia, too, but is not as insistent about it. Brody also buries himself behind pillows and under blankets...both 'fluff' bed covers and especially love fleece. Brody is incredibly toy centric and very neat with his toys, even picking them up and putting them away in one of his two (2) 'toy boxes'...our bed or the love seat...and he knows which lives where. They both choose their clothes, Mia 'teases' Brody...just to get him going. Brody wants to be carried out to potty and Mia is picking that up, too...not all the time but they like the view and 'sniffing' height. Brody, however, 'guides' me to where he wants his feet to touch down...or rather he throws a paw against my chest and/or neck/face and spins his head around to look at me like "Here? NO!!! Are ya crazy?" until HE finds an acceptable spot in the yard. If I try to put him down where he doesn't want to be, he 'air climbs' backwards trying to get back up before the feet touch. Both Brody and Mia 'help' me pick them up by 'launching' themselves up as I start picking them up. I could go on...:D |
they are all goofy, that is what is so great about them, too smart for their own good. Chester when I leave for work will turn his head and not look at me, and now his new thing is he has to have a treat after he eats his dog food, and he comes in after Im out of the shower to lick the water off my legs |
When I tell Joey its time for bed he goes to my room jumps on my bed and I brush him. Then I go brush my teeth and he always smells my breath, just to make sure. LOL |

My pups practically jump into the shower when they hear the water turn off so they can lick the water off my legs & toes. Then they follow me to my bedroom & when I try to put lotion on, they try to eat that too. We have french doors separating our front door & foyer from the rest of the house. When I come home, my little girl jumps sooo high up in the air. She doesn't jump at the door or at me...she jumps vertically. It's so weird, but so cute to see her from that angle through the glass panes. As soon as she sees I'm getting ready to open the French doors, she'll sit, wait until I'm inside & the french doors are closed, and then start jumping vertically again. During all this, my boy will be sitting on a bench in the hallway hiding under a throw. He'll peek from inside the throw until I say "Hi Yoshi!" Then, he'll proceed to pounce on his little sister like a cat. Just one pounce. After that, they both race to in the kitchen to get a drink of water. This happens exactly the same way, every single time I walk in the door. So weird. |
