My little perv We ended up keeping the two kitties that mom was going to take. Long story . . Anyway Willow is 8 months old. She is was found at 6 weeks and had a very ruff beginning. I made her into a marshmallow. She is also thinks she is a dog, a retriever. Galen loves her. She is the only one that will stay right into his crazy antics. She was laying on the floor, he jumped on her perpendicular and started humping her belly. I caught him a few days later trying to hump her from behind. She was fixed at twelve weeks. He is only 18 weeks. I never saw a puppy that young do that. Is it normal? |
hes claiming her as his property!!! hehe. at least thats what i assume. happy hump day galen...no pun intended. hehe |
Ruby did that almost right away too...then she quit for the longest time...about two weeks ago she started again.... :( |
My sister in laws dog does this non stop to her cat. There are other dogs in the house he does it to as well but he favors the cat. She seriously needs to get him neutered even though that may not fx the behavior but always the chance it might. |

Oh so he claiming her as his own. Well then she is a floozy. Saber, the cat, claimed her as his own too. |
It's a way of expressing dominance (like Mel said - claiming his property lol). My niece's little Chi tries to hump Mandie these days and he has no testicles dropped yet lol. Chi's think they dominate the world....*sigh* |
Yes it is dominance, my Sophie Kate (yes a female) tries to hump my arm all the time. I just simply remove the little basket case from my arm without making a big deal. My suggestion for the dog/cat thing is let the cat take care of business. Once she gets sick of the humping she will smack the dog a few times and the pecking order has been set (as far as humping). |

My little Bogey prefers his stuffed toys over his sister....whew. For such a little guy he's awfully amorous, LOL! I have to wait until he's finished growing before neutering him because of his elbow injury. He's lifting that little leg every chance he gets, too  |
When Neo was just a baby he was humping like a sailor on shore leave! We had him neutered at eight month old, and here he is-almost four years old(next month) and he STILL humps like a sailor on shore leave, except now it is at certain times with certain items. After a good evening meal, and with his favorite blankie or bear! |
Mine both tried this but we just consistently told them no and it finally stopped. Good luck with your little perv. He is adorable how could the girls resist him:p |
LOL Im glad Chachi just gives the humpty to his stuffed bear. My cats except maybe Cutie Pie would not tolerate it from him and he would get a swift swat to the face |

It's no use though...She likes a more mature partner. |
I have read that this was dominance related too when I did research on Yorkies and dogs in general before we got Katie Scarlett. I've never had a male dog before but I am sure things like this would have to make n giggle a little. I know some have neutered animals that still have a special toy they use for the humping thing. |
and again mine is the only girl who humps!!! I swear she is "gender confused", she will not wear a bow or a dress and humps. I swear when she starts hiking her leg I am taking her to a dog shrink. |
