Eating Poop....ugh I know, gross..... So Bella is my 5 month old has been caught eating poop on several occasions. What can I do to stop this disgusting behavior? The vet said he can give the other dogs something that will make her not want to eat it. (As if poop isnt gross enough...) Any suggestions, advice will be greatly appreciated. |
Try feeding her some pineapple. Sometimes they eat poop because their protein isn't getting broken down well. Pineapple helps break the proteins down and usually stops the poo eating :) |
Many if not most dogs go through a poop eating stage. Just keep it picked up and say "No" to your dog when he starts to approach it and redirect him to a fun squeaky toy or something safe to chew on, play tugowar or something while you clean it up, clean him up, brush teeth, etc. Usually they lose interest after a few times of doing it and by seeing your disgust. No matter even if we don't say anything to them, they can tell by our reactions we don't like it and all of my dogs have stopped it after a while. |
Ugh! i understand and keep my little munchkin on a leash so there's no eating anything without my permission. Definately give the NO command. |

Our little Kinder did that when she was little so we gave her pineapple which helped. It took a few months but she quit and this is a good safe way. Hope your baby stops. Susan |
