Where Can I Get Good, Cheap Hangers? Anyone know where I can get some decent, cheap hangers for all the doggie clothes I have stuffed in a drawer? I have 3 pups, so I don't mind buying bulk...or even splitting a bulk order with someone. I saw some on Ebay - Cleo/$14.25 for 24. But the shipping is $6.50 & I'm thinking that I might be able to find a better deal. Thanks! |
You can buy cheap plastic baby/toddler hangers at walmart. I started with those, but didn't like how the clothes slipped off sometimes, so went with those superthin flocked hangers...I got mine at Homegoods. |
I use the baby hangers from walmart and ordered some doll clothes hangers from Amazon once. |
I don't know why I didn't think of baby hangers??! I have a ton in my attic. And even if I need to buy more, they're probably half the price of anything with the word "pet" on it. Thanks so much! |
I buy my hangers at Babies R Us when they have the BOGO sale. They're great quality and come in blue, green, pink and white. :) |
I was wondering if anyone hung their pet clothes? I've been thinking I didn't just want to leave them crammed in a drawer. LOL Thanks for the idea!! |
I started out with doll hangers... that was when Remy was so tiny she wore xxs...now that the big but:rolleyes: is up to small I use the baby hanger. You are right, it is sad that the word "dog" or "pet" increases the price of the exact same items over the label "child" |
For those that used doll hangers for the tiny clothes, what size did you get? I just did an Amazon search and I got a lot of Barbie hangers (11.5"). The only thing 11.5" that makes sense to me for Barbie is the length of a dress! And I think that's longer than a baby hanger...lol |
I hang some of mine and others are stuffed in totes...im trying to get creative and make a dog armoire out of a used entertainment center but im waiting for the exact entertainment center I want to be for sale cheap on craigslist! |

The blue hanger not only is too small for the clothing, the hook part is tiny and wont fit on the rods I used to make Jada and Bogie's closets. |
I dont purchase hangers. Years ago I made AG doll clothes and sold them. I had a pattern for wooden hangers and have just altered the hanger pattern a bit. I use a small jigsaw/table style and spray paint them. |
You Tube Video Here is a link to a You Tube video showing how to make your own wire hangers. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty simple. I'm sure with a little wire and a little practice one could make their own hangers. |
That looks like FUN! Hmmm I may have to try that. |
I bought baby hangers from target. Pkg. Of ten i think for $1.99. They have colored ones too. I have a huge amoire with two racks made with spring curtain rods. Too for my boy and bottom for my girl. Plus whole bottom area for storage. Love it. |

wow... I have made a very few american girl clothes when my daughters were young enough to play with their american girl dolls. The dolls they have are at least 18 years old.. beautiful dolls!!! To make hangers... all I need is another hobby..there is just not enough hours in the day...or I am just not organized enough to make the best use of the hours I have. Maybe because I am on yt too much:eek: |
I bought some baby hangers in bulk really cheap on amazon for KS's things. |
Clothespins If the garments slip off the children's hangers, get a bag of brightly colored plastic closepins from the $ store; works like a charm. Or, if crafty, pick up a bag of the old fashioned wooden clothespins and decorate with polymer paints. Fun to do while watching your favorite show. When dry, lighty spray on a protective clear coat (outside); let dry. Now you have a designer look for just pennies. If using the old style clothespins, pinch the fabric just under one of the top parts of the hanger to anchor the garment. Used to do this with my children's clothes hangers. No more slipping. |
