Where is post? I just posted a new thread that was quite lengthy because I needed to supply the details to get an answer, but after I hit submit new post, it doesn't show up. This happened once before and I didn't post again, because I didn't feel like retyping it all ;/ Am I doing something wrong? |
It could be because you are a new poster. They get reviewed by a moderator before they show up! Not sure how many times a newbie posts before that quits happening |
I know that happened to me at first, but it would show a window first and let me know that was being done and when I posted this post it didn't hold it? I hate to type it all over again, and have it post twice. :/ |
Oh that's weird... |
There a couple of ways to find your posts. You can go to you page, and look under "Statistics" and you'll see two options, “Find all posts” or “Find all threads”. Another way is to just left click above your avatar and under your name on this thread, and a menu will come up with the option to "Find more Posts". A third way is to go to "advanced search" http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/search.php and put you name in the "Search by User Name". I couldn't find any other posts made today by you, I don't think it's because you're new, you aren't that new anymore. YT is having server problems and it may be YT just had a glitch. Because your post was long, it might have also been caused by a "user time out". Do you have to sign in to YT? This sometimes happens to people who have to sign in, because it signs you out before your post can be completed. You can have your computer “remember you” so this won’t happen. Just check the "remember me" box when you sign in. If you can’t do that, it might work better if you typed you thread on Word and then copy and pasted it to a thread, that way you won't lose it. Sorry this happened, I know it’s frustrating. |
My posts don't show up immediately, either. I can't tell you why. Try going to your user CP and see if the thread is there. It might be on the second page if not the first. |
I have lost more than one very long post that it took a long time to write and hit submit and it just didn't post. Always figured such was online forums. Happened on my email too of all things when I was emailing my boss. |
Yeah. That's technology for you...gotta love it and hate it :) I reposted and it went through this time. Thanks. |
Time out Thank you Nancy for the info as I have also suffered with lost posts. I signed in without the remember me box being checked and was timed out a few times and I did not know why. Very annoying as it was usually a longer post, and I often did not have the stamina to re type. Lol! |

ugh .... me too ... It was long and important, to me anyway, and probably to the person who I was responding to ... moved my curser up to make a very small edit, hit backspace and the entire message disappeared, ugh I should've left the typo lol ... but I refuse to retype it again ... |

Auto-delete. LOL! It is a real pain! Lets hope the new server does not do this. Or at least it tells us if we are about to be timed out, as on some other sites, so we can ask for more time. |

If you need to change that, clear any YT cookies and then log in and check that box, and it may be what helps with this issue. |
