I think its wishful thinking on my part that he will end up soft coated. He is purebred and both mom and pops have silky... As far as hair on his head he hardly has any! and its is more silky feeling than the rest of him. Only time will tell... we'll keep him either way :o) |

Don't be to sure :p Dexter's parents were both purebred (Dexter is AKC registered) silky coated Yorkshire terrier's. Dexter's grandparents were all show dogs. All of Dexter's siblings had the silky coat. Dexter was the only soft coated baby out of his entire litter. You're definitely right, though!! Only time will tell how is coat will really turn out :p from the picture his coat looks soft coated to me, but that is just a picture... so there is no way of telling for sure. No matter what his coat is he will definitely be a cutie :) and very obviously loved by his family! |
1 Attachment(s) Kyra has (what I think) may be a modified coat as it has changed some as she has gotten older, but if not brushed every day she mats really bad in spots. They are a lot more work than silky coats but can be just as beautiful. Let me see if I can find a picture of her as a "fluffy puppy" like yours. |
Thanks for posting the link to the cotton coat thread. Some of those do look alot like our Max. I won't get my hopes up too high though... But they are sooooo cute! |
2 Attachment(s) This is a photo of poor Max's bald looking head! And the other is a pic of him from today... he is quite scraggly and needing a bath... |
He is breaking coat. His head will turn a white gray and then gold. It is very normal :). |
