Bully sticks? Hi all Making a trip to petsmart tomorrow to get a few things to spoil My Baby, Haven't been to a pet store yet because it is a hour and a half away so I am sure I will be stocking up LOL I see a lot of you give your Furbaby's bully sticks other than made in the USA is there something else I should be looking for, a certain brand, flavor you use? online I see some say bully sticks rawhide, rawhides are not good for them are they? How about pig ears or other treats & chew things you use? |
They are good. If your Yorkie likes them grab a few USA made versions. My yorkie doesn't like them but prefers pork pizzles (which are the same concept) except they are smaller and made of pork. I have only seen them in PetsMart though. |
I will only buy Merrick Bully Sticks, they have never had a recall on the bully sticks, and they are completely made in this country. Be careful of the ones made in China. I'm not sure you can buy bully sticks at Petsmart, they weren't in local stores here, I buy mine online. |
I would get bully sticks from bestbullysticks.com its cheaper then the store and they have odor free. Don't get rawhide it cause blockages and is not digestible but bully sticks are. I would not get pig ears they have a lot of fat and massive amounts of them were recalled at one time. |
I agree with bestbullysticks.com. You can't beat the value/prices. I really only buy from them...I trust them. |
Some dogs ( mine being one) cant tolerate bully sticks or other chew's. Be aware of tummy upsets after your baby chews them. My Vet also told me bacteria can live of them causing tummy sickness in your pet. |
I only buy from best bully. I get 12" long sticks even though she is a little dog. Make sure the sticks you buy are not soft and easy to chew down. It should take them quite a while to even soften the end. |
I purchase mine from Bestbullysticks.com or Westbrook Dog.... I normally buy the 12" and cut them in half... |
Just from my calculations/research, if you can get them for less than $0.25 per inch, that's a good deal. ;) |
I'm going to check that site out. I like True Chew bully sticks, but Petsmart stopped carrying them in the "right" size. I get the larger ones, which gives the puppies more to work on, and they like the larger ones more than they like the smaller ones. The only decent sized bully stick I can find at Petsmart is the Dentley's and I made the mistake of buying "beef flavor"... which, ummm... it' made FROM beef, why does it have added "flavor". Those bully sticks stunk so badly!!! It was recently time to throw the last one out. It was only about two-three inches long, and again, the only right sized bully stick I could find was Dentley's... BUT they did have "Natural Flavor" Yeah, not too happy with that brand at all. I was about to go searching for a supplier, since it seems that True Chews switched to wholesale to stores only, so again, thanks for the link. |
