Just now seeing this and though our prayers and thoughts may be on the late side, we are still praying and thinking of you and little Jadabug. I'm sure all be fine. Will check back later for an update... off to work now (at least I can work from home).:)

Just a quick update..My daughter in law just called. Jada is awake and fine but still groggy from the anesthesia. She said Doc wants to keep her until she is fully awake and alert, so I will be picking her up when I get my granddaughter from school.
It wasn't good news :( She did keep the tooth that was loose from the hair incident, but she lost 6 others :( One Molar, two pre-molars and 4 canines. I am in tears for my sweet girl.

Little Jada is gonna need all Mommy's TLC when she gets home. Good thing you have a 3 day weekend..... Little Furbut just might demand you take the rest of the week off as well ;)

Sweet baby will do great! They bounce back pretty quickly with lots of lovin' :thumbup:

I was so distraught when I posted I put the teeth down wrong..she only lost 3 of the small canine teeth in the front..not 4 :(

Sorry to hear this, but like someone said, she will be fine. Jada is simply one of the babies that have tiny mouths. I'm afraid I will be writing the same report on Saydee one day. Give her some extras kisses from all of us here. I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Just now seeing your post, Michelle. Sorry to hear Jada had to have some teeth removed. I know how hard it is to do our darn best to brush their teeth to keep them from losing any. Bentley at his last dental lost the back molars...I felt as you do but like everyone has said they bounce back real quick and the bad teeth are out and won't cause further problems. Hugs to you and dear Jada. Can't wait to hear she is home with you!

Thanks Judy, I wasn't really surprised, but I was really praying I would be wrong. I just cannot brush in the back of her little mouth. I hope I can at least help her to keep what remaining teeth she has, from this point forward.

Thanks Dyan...I know she will be fine..and she is getting a yummy treat this evening if she feels like eating..I just boiled a couple of steaks to make a beef broth and I am going to put broth and a tiny bit of steak with her kibble through the food processor..I hope she will feel like eating. Bless her heart it has been so long since her evening meal at 5pm yesterday and then treats at 8.

Sorry to hear she lost some teeth... just wanted to suggest this: now with a nice clean mouth, is it possible to use the rinse or a gel product on a Q-Tip to reach the back teeth? I do this with 2 of mine and can do it with their mouths closed. I just go inside the cheek and back to get the product on the gumline. Sure brushing is more effective, but some tooth gels state that just getting the gel in contact with the teeth and gums will also work.

Kathy I am going to be applying the rinse on a q-tip..I cannot reach those back teeth with anything else. I have been applying the coconut oil with my fingers on the tooth that was loose and she didn't lose that one. I am going to use the coconut oil on those back teeth too. I have it and use it on their food every day so It sure can't hurt to coat her teeth with it also. There is no way to get the tiniest toothbrush on those back teeth.
My goal is to help her keep the teeth she has left. I use a dental gel and water additive now and have been for the last year. I can't recommend it at this point..it did nothing to help her and I started using it on clean teeth after her dental last spring.

sorry jada lost some more teeth. i hope the coconut oil works. i am going to try this also as i have some. i use the tropiclean fresh breath gel which helps keep lolas buildup down but she is not pearly white.

Oh, that poor sweet baby, I'm so glad she's awake and made it through anesthesia but so sorry for all the tooth loss. Poor baby!!!

We are home now and jada is doing really good. She had her supper of kibble with warm broth I made from boiling lean steaks. I put a tad of steak in there too😁 with green beans and ran it through the food processor. She gobbled it down.
She lost the pre-molars and the big molar due to dead roots😪the canines were just hanging and very loose. I hope this new rinse works.
Thank you all for the prayers and thoughts. We appreciate each and every one of them.

Sweet Jada. I'm so glad she is are over surgery, home, well-bed and no doubt being doted on and pampered still more by mommie! I hope you both have a restful night and soon those gums of her are completely healed.

Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear Jada had to lose those teeth. These animals are so resilient. She will come thru this and just eat a different way and adjust. I promise.

I'm glad you are using coconut oil. That is what I brush Mandie's teeth with everynight. Ended up being what I thought was best and then she agreed because it's all she'll let me use. Praying it keeps helping Jada.

So glad Jada is back home and mommy's lovin. Sorry she lost some teet. I worry about Zhoie too. Her mouth is so small I can't get a brush in there and I have tried so many.

Judy I buy the Nutiva cold pressed coconut oil. Our local health food store sells it. I have just been rubbing it on her teeth and gums. They eat it every day on their kibble and have been for a couple of years but just started using it on their teeth and gums.

Michelle, I am sorry she lost teeth. But, glad it is over and she is home recovering. I always worry till I know they come through and are at home.
