This made me so sad! So I was on petfinder.com looking through available dogs to rescue when I came across this and it just made me so sad. That poor little dog! I feel a little strange posting links to other sites... but it's for a good cause! Hope its okay. |
Sorry but the link didn't come through. Would you try again?? |
I'm so bad at making things work on forums. Here is the direct URL Petfinder Adoptable Dog | Maltese | Leslie, AR | PLEASE HELP PATRICK! SPONSORS NEEDED! since apparently I'm fail at creating links. If that doesn't work I may be out of ideas. |

Omg, that is horrible. I am concerned that many of those "sponser this dog" links are scams. That poor dog needs to be humanely euthanized, from the looks of it. That is torture. |
I really wish there was a law where you could do to people what they do to animals!! |
My heart is hurting :( I can't imagine the pain of that little baby. |
OMG! this brought tears to my eyes...that poor baby..... |

Myself being a Volunteer in Rescue can say I have seen much worse, and I have seen first hand how great care can be given and the doggies go on to live in a Forever home and thrive. There is no reason to PTS. He just needs to be in the right hands to get the care he needs. |
That's horrible. I emailed them to see what kind of medical treatment he needs. Poor thing. I can't even imagine. |
My Lord, how can people be so very cruel  I pray he finds a beautiful and loving home for the rest of his life :hands: |

But I fully agree with you about the links like those, I always think that they are scams, too. |
"AngelFae" I have to disagree with you there. It looks like all of his medical issues are "easliy" curable given the right time and attention. But I fully agree with you about the links like those, I always think that they are scams, too. "TxVicki" You would be amazed how medical care and love can turn this around.*Myself being a Volunteer in Rescue can say I have seen much worse, and I have seen first hand how great care can be given and the doggies go on to live in a Forever home and thrive.*There is no reason to PTS. He just needs to be in the right hands to get the care he needs. I just am thinking about the pain of the animal. I am not a vet tech and what looks unrecoverable to me as a people nurse might not look so bad to someone who works with animals daily. If it was adopted by a forever home and given every comfort including adequate pain control and every medical treatment available, I am all for giving him a chance. I just would hate for an animal that looks like that to be treated lying on a concrete floor at a shelter with no person to love him and no forever home in sight. It is just too depressing for words. As for sending $$ to help, nothing on CL IMO would influence me to send $$. If you want to help financially support a dog in need, go to a reputable rescue and look at the dogs there that need sponsers. Do not send $ to anything that you have not thoroughly researched 1st. |

I have at times given to groups like this, BUT I actually find out the Vet Office treating such a pet and will donate to the Vet Office. |

:thumbup: Horrible what's been done to that baby!!!:confused::( |
This is horrifying! Poor little guy, I hope he is able to experience the goods things in life, I'd hate to see him be euthanized. The rescue group appears to be legit, really dedicated to rescuing animals from some truly vile conditions. Here's a newspaper article about them. Group seeks help after taking in 80 dogs | Van Buren County Democrat |
I contacted the shelter. They do seem legit. It's a really horrifying photo they posted of the poor pup :( Here's their reply to me: "Thank you for your concern. When we got Patrick he had big open sores across hid body and most of his fur missing. We are trying to get donations toward his blood work testing which is about $300. He wouldn't eat when he first came to us but my fiance April, is really great with special needs animals. He's eating now but he's still not 100% yet. His blood work is to make sure his internal organs are working as they should, like his liver and kidneys. He shows classic signs of a dog from a mill. It is a shame that people think it's ok for them to treat animals this way. We would love to answer anymore questions you might have. Please feel free to call us anytime. 8705041122 8705041108 Thanks, April & Stephen" I'm assuming that since they don't even have bloodwork on him yet, they don't really know what's going on inside his little body. I wonder if there's enough love in the world to save this poor baby. So cruel. :( |

Yes, it can be treated :) Praying for that fast for him! |
So sad! I read this right after I sat here worrying that I may be spoiling Baxter too much. Am I giving him too much attention? Why do I have such a hard time leaving him & him me? Then I read that, & realized how fortunate we are to have each other, unconditionally! Poor puppy :( |
