teeth question Poor Monty has retained his upper canines and I am making arrangements this week for their removal, just wondered if anyone that has been through this can tell me how bad it is for them? They should have removed them when he was neutered but didn't so now he has to go through this whole ordeal, poor little guy :( |
Hi, my oscar had 2 retained canine baby teeth removed when he was 9 months old.. He did fine & recovered quickly... I dont know how your vet does it but my vet just sedated Oscar to have it done , it was much easier on him than anesthesia... |
Abby had her upper canines removed at spay. They are actually more comfortable without those double teeth. The gums move right around the adult tooth, within 24 hours you shouldn't even see where they were! (Ziva had 7 removed and was really able to eat and chew much better afterwards) |
Thanks for the replies, I feel much better about having this done now :) I think those double teeth are causing him discomfort and bad breath |
keylo is going in tomorrow to have hers removed. i hate this but it has to be done..i only wish they didnt have to go under for it. going to be a long day tomorrow. |
It doesnt affect them at all, dont worry ;) Mine had theirs removed (6 teeth each) and I was sooo worried that they wouldent be able to eat and that they´d be in pain that I prepared a bunch of home made baby food the day before. They didnt need it,infact, when I got to the vets office to pick them up,they were chowing down on a bowl of KIBBLE! lol. They were fine,as if nothing had happened, and their breath smelled WAY better too ;) |
