Congratulations, she looks like a great mom and the babies are beautiful :) |
I am glad that mom and babies are doing well. Digging after the pups are born is very common. The momma is probably just trying to fluff up the bed so she can cover her pups or get comfortable herself. I always keep a small fleece blanket in the whelping so the momma can use that to cover her pups. |
Another problem she just moved her puppies on to my bed now,why would she do that ? |
It is common for some mommas to try to move their pups around. If the momma is used to sleeping on the bed then she wants her puppies there with her. You really need to confine the momma in a exercise pen or a small area so she cannot move the puppies. Once the pups get a little older then she won't try to move them. |

Awww... how exciting. I am sure you were anxious to meet all the little ones. Congrats! |
Trying to find out how the little puppy is doing....I had posted some help and it was on another thread that I can not find now....how is the smallest baby doing? As far as moving puppies all over the place, I keep my mommas isolated with their own babies, in crates that they have been acclimated to....no moving all over the room or house....you are going to loose a baby possibly, allowing her to do that.... |
If she is moving the puppies then she is not feeling they are safe. Try to locate her in a mostly dark, quiet place where she will not be disturbed. She needs to feel safe. It is instinct for her to try to hide her puppies if she feels they are threatened. |
She does sleep with me,I don't have any spare rooms to put her in not even a cupboard so it looks like I will have to get her a cage today as I would like to sleep in my bed tonight haha, thank you every body x |

buying a pen is a must for making puppy life easy. Once they start running around, mine was a life saver we had a day while we waited for delivery all the pups were escaping the made up box we had and I was so scared they would come to harm I didn't take my eyes off them, think sleepless nights and puppies go together lol. pleased to read the other posts that Sophie moving the babies is normal must have been scary don't know what I would have done if Molly had done that, this is one of the pens we bought. he Sophie and the pups are still doing well. keep us posted Red 8 Panel Oxford Fabric Dog Rabbit Playpen Puppy Pet Run Cage Tent S M L XL | eBay |
