Snow has now begun in earnest up here! Hoping it will be a lot less than expected. |
I'm spending some time tonight looking at each of those pictures of those dolls. Amazing. Sorry for the hijack and back to your snow thread. Just heard that Boston??? or Massachusetts??? is it, is closing its streets to cars!!! Even the parked cars have to be off it sounds like. The scenes on TV are beautiful with all that snow. Will New York do that? |

I live in Iowa and we have gotten very little snow for the last 2 years! I will pray that everyone will stay safe and warm during this snowfall! I almost miss the snow and blizzards.....I love to hibernate during those times.....just snuggle down, watch TV or scrapbook till my hearts content! Hmmmm..... Maybe I can blow some warmer air your way!!! :D |

I absolutely cannot tell that these are dolls. They truly look like newborn babies. Absolutely stunning. |

Are the pizza places delivery still today in the snow where there is no travel ban? If so, I'd go pizza then but I use any excuse to order pizza! :) |

I just joined this forum tonight. My only daughter, now grown, just lost her precious Yorkie to renal kidney failure. And little Maggie was only three years old. We are all so upset that I thought being with others who love Yorkies would make me feel better. I was shocked to see that I know Carmen from NJ from a doll forum that I belong to.....HI Carmen! I am, also, a doll artist and love making the dolls. Thanks for letting me join in with you all, and hopefully, I can learn more about the precious Yorkies.:aimeeyork |
I heard Boston was giving 500.00 tickets to anyone driving on the streets tonight. I live in Northern Illinois and we had about 10 inches. I think that is the most we have had in 2 years. I started crying when I looked outside and saw the city plow had dumped all that heavy wet snow at the end of my driveway. It's the first big snow since I lost Ken and it just hit me how alone I am. Luckily a neighbor helped me get 1/2 the big mess shoveled so I could get out and I finished up today. I can't even imagine 24-30 inches. I'd be stuck in for a week. I hope you all stay safe and power stays on. Carmen, you have an amazing talent. I couldn't believe your work! |

Carmen is a sweetheart:) |
hey girl, welcome to YT, so sorry about your daughter's yorkie. hugs, |
You all are so sweet to greet and welcome me to the forum!! Hi, Carmen!! Yes, she is a most talented doll artist! My daughter's little Maggie was so precious.......I will try and post a picture of her. It has been so difficult losing her, and I do appreciate your kind words of comfort. Our hearts are broken at the moment. |
I live in a suburb of Buffalo NY and work in downtown Buffalo. I can tell you that the snowbelt areas didn't get slammed but we in the Northtowns did...I came home to 2 feet of snow in my driveway...my long driveway and I am absolutely exhausted from shoveling it out because MY PLOW GUY DIDN'T.....gratefully, my young neighbor came over and helped but it was a lot of snow and I am so sore I'm going to bed....oh and of course it took me an hour and a half to drive the 25 minutes home...I'm guessing Niagara Falls got hit hard...and MY PLOW GUY CAME WHEN I FINISHED.....arrrrghhhhh |

I just found out about Carmen's doll-making abilities today and was totally amazed to see her incredible work. Her baby dolls are true works of art. I would love to know about your doll forum as I love, love, love dolls, especially bigger dolls like the Playpal dolls, Shirley Temple and baby dolls - the lifesize ones. If you can, please PM me a message or just pass along the name of the forum here. |
is a doll forum called Doll-Fan, i used to be very active there, until one day I wanted to show my litter and I got attack by many people on the forum, for breeding. so I barely go there anymore. since the dolls don't need any help, I rather come here and help those people and dogs that really can use a word of encoragement.. hugs, Carmen |
Doll-Fan. Thanks, Carmen. Going to have to check it out, albeit a little worriedly!!! I've looked for doll forums but they all seem to have old posts and hardly anything current. |
You all are so dear to comfort me.......losing a dear doggie friend is traumatic, to say the least. I posted Maggie's photo in my album. I have yet to figure out how to post a pic in a post....giggle.... The name of my dolly nursery is Storkland Special Deliveries. I have a little website but it is not very current as I am not too keen on updating.....always mess it up......but you are welcome to view some of my dolls. Storkland Special Deliveries I have not posted any recent dolls that I have made. They are a joy to make, and it is very rewarding to my inner self to make something so precious as a baby doll. Also, I have only recently started making each of my grandsons as they looked when a baby........I plan to someday give them to their little girls.....like a great grandmother hope chest. So far, I have completed two of the four grandsons, and they closely resemble their namesakes. I have only made one toddler size doll......but she is toooo cute and wears size 1 year clothing. Carmen, I no longer go on dollfan either. I never did fit in.....maybe I was too old.....giggle. |
