Mia is only 6 days older than Brody. I wouldn't pretend to guess if it would be as easy for you. I do believe that things work when they are meant to be. :D |
Thank everyone for there wonderful advice. Everyone has given me such wonderful advice. I thank you. I have actually looked into adopting a yorkie but the ones that I have seen so far have so many issues. I may try to find one from a breeder that is a year old, if that is even possible. Thanks again for all your help. I will keep you posted on whichever way my adventure takes me. |
I would get an Xpen and put a pee pad down. You'll be happy your pup will be pee pad trained (for those inclement weather days or 3am "gotta go out now mom" moments) also an Xpen will help with the teething stage. I made a mistake of gating mine in my kitchen area with peepads, but in 1 day during the teething stage, they chewed my cabinets and molding in my house. :( So an Xpen is a great idea. You also can still train them to potty outside too. |

What is the best exercise pen for a yorkie? Okay now I need to know what exercise pen is the best and easest for the mommy to get in and out to clean. So figuring all this out, please tell me if I am wrong, I will need a exercise pen, a crate, water and food bowls, and toys and potty pads inside the exercise pen. Is this correct? Put all these items inside the pen and the little puppy will be fine all day while I am at work. Then when I get home I would like to take him outside to go to the bathroom and then should play with him and put him back in the exercise pen with all his stuff. And then do the same thing in a few hours. At night take the crate only up in our bedroom and put him in it for the night until morning to go outside to the bathroom. Please tell me if this all sounds right to you? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just want to do the right and best thing for the little one. |

Oh, and I know some people who have used human baby play pens for little puppies as exercise pens, too...very portable and easily cleanable, and up off the floor. You can move the whole kit into your bedroom beside the bed if you have space and want to. Just a thought...along with "thrift store"...and "yard sale"...:D |
I actually have a graco play pen for when our grand daughter would come stay with us. But being up off the floor I thought that the water bowl would spill all the time so I did not want to deal with that. I actually like the one that was in the picture of the rounded mesh type. I could put it in our family room so he could be with us as we watch tv and stuff. I think that I would only need a small -medium one. |
