I love my yorkie baby His name is Ari and when I first got him I was contemplating getting rid of him because of his absurb behavior. He terrorizes my whole house and even drags my tampons around the house. Its very embarrassing, but thats not the point. I love him so much now whenever I get home hes so excited and cant even wait to give me hugs(yes he does actually give hugs) and kisses. I just love love love him! I no longer want to get rid of him! I want to get him a new brother to play with so he can have fun all day long because when hes not having fun im not having fun! I just dont know how to get him to stop s**tting in his cage. Any idea? much love Ari the stoner and his owner |
How long is he left in his cage? Yorkies have little bowls/bladders, you may be leaving him in there for too long. I have a high energy girl myself and I have to take her on special runs around the block and doggie day care sometimes helps. I wish I could say it'll get better soon but my little girl just turned 2 and isnt showing any signs of slowing down. You just have to work a little harder to keep them busy and out of mischief. |
:shocked7q Whoa. A tiny bit of TMI there... But good for you sticking with the pup. I haven't had mine for a week yet. I love him to pieces. They can be such good friends, can't they? You mention a "cage." I'm wondering if you mean a crate or a pen. I'm using a pen for mine (with a small crate inside) so there's room for a training pad. He's pretty good about going on the pad that way. You might try that. |
How old is he? Yorkie adults only tend to poop twice a day so Iīm guessing heīs either a puppy (they poop ALOT more lol) or that he spends ALOT of time in his cage? They dont like to poop where they sleep which is why I wonder. Until you are fully able to handle just the one yorkie,I wouldent get a second just to keep him entertained ;) Remember that two pups not only entertain each other, they also DISTRACT each other,so itīs double the work when it comes to training and getting them to calm down and even leaving them alone.Another puppy will not make things easier for you or for Ari,it will actually be more overwhelming for you and it can throw potty training off for the first pup at first as well. They can regress with the arrival of "competition" ;).As a rule, one puppy will just sleep when left alone, but two pups will play hard and be mischievous ,and you will come home more than once to a mess (shredded potty pads, eaten poop, chewed shoes, pee puddles because one doesnt hasnt let the other pee in peace on the pad so he has walked half way across the room peeing as the other pesters him lol etc).If one pup seems too much at times to you now, then maybe you should wait :) I got two puppies from the same litter,itīs a 24 hour job and a HUGE responsability,so thatīs deffinately something to think about for the pups sake ;) They need (and love) tons of attention and they do not like to be alone for too long either...even if you have 2. Oh,and if you do eventually get another male, get them both fixed, because if you dont, they will both be marking ALL over the place to claim the house.Good luck!!:D |
