Oh my goodness my heary is breaking for you. I am so sorry this has happened. I would alert every one you can. Go door to door in your neighbor hood and let them know. make flyers and take to all Vet Offices and Groomers. Also let the shelter know as well. Also scan Craigs List in your area. Keep checking Craigs List for people selling pets. Saying many prayers that your baby is returned to you. Sending you hug's. |

This idea of someone taking a dog from inside a fence in someones yard distresses me terribly. I don't understand how people think they can get away with something like this. I pray this pup is found soon. My heart is heavy with the thought....:([/QUOTE] I think she let her out to potty, in the front yard and the baby was snatched while she had turned her back.....sounds like they were standing there waiting......THAT is the scary part.... |
My heart is breaking for you. How awful ! Prayers |
I'm really sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how awful you must feel. The SPCA and other animal advocacy groups have been running ads on TV and other places about how the rate of thefts of small dogs has sky rocketed in the last few years. They advise people not to let their dogs out alone even in fenced yards and to think of getting extra security as the thieves even take them when they break into homes. I guess the resale value is pretty high even on adult dogs. As others have said watch all the classified ads, even in other cities that are near you. They may wait a few weeks to try to sell her or just try in a nearby area. Since your little girl was only out for a short time the thief may have been hanging around waiting for an opportunity to grab the poor baby. Notify all the vets for a wide area of the theft so if something suspicious comes in they will know to check it out. You might want to put picture posters up at groomers and pet stores also. Don't give up it may take months but persistence may just get your little one back Many papers will let you put free lost and found ads in their classified section. I don't see why you could not put a stolen dog in that area. |
This is just terrible! There are some really desperate people out there. Not that gives them the right to take something from someone else nor to take your baby from you. I am very sorry that this happened to you and I understand you being upset. I would be beside myself. Looks like a few people have given some great advice. I really hope and pray that you get your precious baby back!! |
Perhaps you can use this company Lost My Doggie - Our Lost Dog Locating Service will Help Find Your Lost Dog, Lost Cat or Missing Pet We got a message about a missing dog this weekend and they will leave messages for people in your area. |

BlueMoon, I'm so sorry you're going through this nightmare! :( I know it takes a lot of strength and diligence but please take all the excellent advice that's be given here to help bring your baby home. Don't give up, there's truly hope that your little one will be found. There were two stolen Yorkie's named Baxtor and Cooper who were returned after 18 months! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...per-found.html My thoughts and prayers are with you and your little one. |
Be sure to contact your neighbors. They will know if someone was visiting and could be of help in locating your baby! Contact all vets in town. Check all classified ads. Praying for safe return of your beloved pet! |

I am so sorry for you, if some one stole one of my dogs you better belive they would end up sorry they did it. I highly reccomend going as media blitz as possible, play up the part about her needing medicine. I saw a recent story about someone who saw a little dog on the news and realized her friend had it, the lady made her friend give it up and gave it back to the owner. It's all about getting the word out! I will keep my fingers crossed for this little baby. |
Good grief...how sick are people today? I hope you find your baby quickly. What a heartless, heartbreaking...no, just plain evil, thing to do. Sending strength and energy your way and lots of {{{Hugs}}} |
This breaks my heart. I would be sick with worry if mine were taken. |
I would def keep an eye on Craigslist... A similar situation just happened in my area. People "found" a dog re homed it right away. Now people are looking for their dog and can't find it. I saw it on cl but the description didn't say found dog or I would have emailed them. I feel so sorry for the family! As well with you... Thoughts from my house to yours and would be glad to share if their is a Facebook page started. |
It was shocking to read how your baby was stolen right from his own yard! I am so sorry that he is gone and no doubt it was all the more awful because you saw it all and I know you are still shocked and hurting so badly! I will pray that somehow this baby can be located and brought back to you. |
Sweetie, I took a pic of Hunter when she was younger from your photo album. I posted a notice on my FB page with all the info we have so far. If you have a more recent pic or can think of anything for me to add, just let me know ok? Praying you have your baby back safely and SOON! |
So sad for you I am so so sorry! I have been in your shoes. I posted this story some time ago but will give you the short version. My little poodle, Katie, was so tiny people assumed she was a puppy until they got up close to her and then it was obvious she was a senior. Some city workers were on my street trimming trees, so they were in my neighborhood for a few weeks. I took Katie out for a bathroom break around noon then went inside for something for 5 minutes and one of the men came in my yard and grabbed Katie during that time. My fence was wrought iron so they saw her from the street and I think they thought she was a puppy. I was devastated, had all my neighbors and friends helping me look for her. I approached the city workers and I always had a feeling they had her, they acted very odd when asked if they had seen my dog. I put signs everywhere within a 10 mile radius of my house with her picture and an offer of a reward. It was the longest week of our life, me and my children were heartbroken. One day my doorbell rang ( 7-10 later) and it was one of the city workmen holding Katie in his arms, he asked for the reward first thing then came up with an unbelievable story that he found her in a ditch several streets away from my home.... Under some brush...yada yada yada.... Katie was very clean - she had not been in any brush!! I am convinced he took her home thinking she was a puppy then realized she was an older dog then when he saw the reward sheet he returned her. I paid him the reward without any questions because we were SO thrilled to get her back!! Even knowing the man had stolen her!! I will pray for the safe return of your baby! It s frightening how brazen bad people have become! They will walk in your yard to take anything they want! It is just not right!! Don't give up... Put posters up offering a reward and hopefully that will entice the people to return her...? I pray you get your baby back soon! |
I am soooooooooooooooo sorry. My baby died so I know how hard you are grieving. I hope things work out for you I will pray for you too. |
Stolen baby I am soooooooooooooooo sorry. My baby died so I know how hard you are grieving. I hope things work out for you I will pray for you too. |
I don't know if this has already been mentioned or not but have you tried contacting your local news station ? they might put it on TV. |
I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I would go door to door introducing myself. And tell them what happen and give them a flyer. I would tell them your pup needs meds. If it is one of your neighbors friends then they will find out about it and maybe they will do the right thing and get the pup back to you. |
You might even put up some signs in your neighborhood, stores, and around town describing what you saw of the car and the situation as a "WARNING...Pet Thieves Drive..." so other pet owners can be on the lookout for 'pet thieves' driving around. Their pets might be next, and if the 'publicity' and 'attention' doesn't 'shame' the thieves into returning your Yorkie, any awareness you can raise in other pet owners may be helpful if those others are watching out for the safety of their own pets, too. Just FWIW...I am still so heart broken for you and keep checking back to see updates, hoping you have your baby back. {{{Hugs}}} |
WOOO HOOO! <----insert Happy Dance someone found her! We picked her up she's safe but sick :(....I think that's why they brought her back well that and the reward, I hope she puked in the car. Missing a tooth but that's ok saved me from having to get it removed I'm soooooo relieved. They said she followed her son home...saw a sign at the local food store, what a crock! I don't care....I have her....soo sooo relieved. THank you ....Thank you for all your well wishes and guidance. |
So sorry for your loss Jeaneen |
